“My daughter has been seeing Dr. Thomas since she was in her first practice at her UVA Pediatric Endocrinology clinic office and she was so fantastic that we followed her to Richmond, VA at VCU. My daughter has Type 1 Diabetes and we have been with Dr. T since 2014, she saved my daughter's life, as her first Endo was overdosing her on insulin. Dr. Thomas worked very hard to get my child to safe numbers and consistent range. She goes above and beyond to help her patients and actually listens to me and especially my child. My daughter absolutely loves her and we couldn't imagine seeing any other doctor for my daughter's diabetes and other issues that have arose over the years. She is extremely thorough and doesn't risk waiting for testing when something else arises with my daughter's health. She refers her to outside specialist whenever non endocrine related health issues arise as well. She is the best doctor we have ever had the privilege of seeing and she treats her patients like family. We drive a long way to see her and she is definitely worth the trip. She has always taken the very best care of my child and I am very grateful for her! I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a pediatric endocrinologist! We absolutely love her and are so grateful for all her help through all these years!”

Just recently in September of this year my thyroglobulin levels were high which indicates disease is present. Dr Amanda as I like to refer to her immediately took action. Did necessary testing, treatment, and more tests. During all of this I was frightened that the cancer may have returned. Dr Amanda, in her manner, and tone was SO COMFORTING! Assuring me she was going to take very good care of me. She kept in touch and explained everything. It made all the difference. Her nurse Crystal did a great job as well by keeping me updated. Words can’t express my gratitude to Dr Amanda Cunningham for holding my hand and hugging me(figuratively) through this health scare.
