When I came to Whidbey I was looking for a Center for Spiritual Living and a friend suggested I try Unity. This Unity has rotating speakers instead on just one pastor, although they do have a spiritual leader for pastor needs. This mix brings in a lot of interesting messages and perspectives. There is a strong message of Love and standing up for justice, and creating acts of kindness. There is no rhetoric of any specific religion going on. It is a mix of Christian, Jewish, Sufie, Mystic Philosophy, and good story telling; all in all good inspiration and thought provoking messages. People here watch out for each other in every way. Small core group but lots of people who float in and out, and all are generous and kind. There is no children's program (yet), so that is an important note. People bring in children and they play in designated areas. Retired people mostly, but there are some like me who work, and have an interest in seeing the younger generation join us. They just enlarged our parking lot so we can accommodate more people when popular speakers come. Great place to check out for a good talk on Sunday's. Also they have a book group on Tuesday night at 7PM, rotating books, great discussion there too.
