The owner was more than helpful. Unfortunately, the boards he had in stock were out of my budget, but he was still able to give me more than solid advice on what to look for. Plus I was still able to buy the perfect size dry bag and flotation device.

Great local board shop. I was looking for an inflatable Red Paddle Co board, and the owner helped me find the perfect one. Super nice guy, and the boards here are of the highest qualiity!

Don’t get down there much, but every time I have, Jim has always been a pleasure to do business with. He brought in Swell Watercraft kayaks and let me demo one. Very helpful in helping me get it to the water. Very much looking forward to buying one of these from him and using the rental in the mean time.

Thus far, Jim is the only dealer on the Kitsap who carries Swell Watercraft. If your looking for a high performance, relatively lightweight sit-on-top kayak for fishing or cruising, you need to stop by Black J and demo one of these boats. A pure joy to paddle — even on rough water like I had when I demoed it.

This place is amazing! Jim seriously helped me pick out an amazing board, gave me an amazing deal and has been so sweet. I will continue to shop here for my paddle/surf needs.

His Paddle Board business is the best retail store in Port Orchard. It is well stocked with quality products from boards, paddles, accessories, to things you didn’t know you needed. Jim is quite handsome, a great personality, a licensed architect, very knowledgeable about his “ Paddle Boards “ and life. If you need advise about your Paddling, building a house, speech (his wife is a speech therapist -A pair of honest smart people.) or life this is a great place to start. The prices are great and very fair. His opinions are well grounded and free.
