(August 25, 2022, 7:35 pm)We participated in the summer learning 2022 program which was wonderful! It was our first year and our four year old is so excited about reading now! Hopefully, we will be able to do this again next year. Story time for toddlers is the best!

(November 1, 2021, 10:32 pm)Really helpful staff. I love being able to put a book on hold from another library in the Kitsap system and getting it a day or two later for pickup. They do curbside too! Looks like they're hosting a lot of outdoor events for kids this Fall.

(February 11, 2018, 9:54 pm)Beautiful building with contributions by local artisans, note the carvings near the entry. Service is terrific, they will find most items using multiple inter-library sources. Reference library is good as well. The library is not as quiet as I would prefer; too many children seem frequently unattended. I use earplugs, so everone's happy.

In 1959, a levy was passed to support a new building on a town-owned lot. The City of Poulsbo managed the library until the mid-1980s when the city voted to join the Kitsap Regional Library's system. In 1998, voters of North Kitsap approved a bond measure to expand and remodel the Poulsbo location's library. The new building opened in 2001.
