Piano Lessons at Li-San's Piano Studio (Puyallup)

My boys have gained so much confidence in their piano playing abilities and reading music. Whenever someone asks about piano lessons, Li-San is my immediate answer. She’s absolutely amazing and my boys always talk about how patient she is while teaching.

Li-San is such a wonderful instructor. I’m an adult learner who came to her over a year ago wanting to learn piano with the hopes of reading and playing music by my 40th birthday in May 2024. Well, here we are just a few months shy of that and I have been reading and playing music for months now! I’m no Mozart, but I’m not stuck playing a one-fingered “Happy Birthday” song either! I’ve come a long way in a year and thoroughly love to practice. So much so that I not only bought a nice ($$$) electric piano for home, but also bought an 88-key keyboard for work as well! I work 24-48 and sometimes 72 hour shifts so I didn’t want to go that long without practice.

Li-San is incredibly patient (I’ve gotten to witness her interactions with many little kiddos the past year!) But I firmly believe those little guys learn far faster than me, or adults in general, and Li-San is equally as attentive and patient with me!

Li-San tries to keep her students on a set schedule, but with my job, my schedule is different every week. She has been so gracious with her willingness to work with my weird schedule, and sometimes my last-minute cancellations and I so appreciate her flexibility.

If you’re interested in learning to play piano or want to get your kiddos involved in music, I absolutely recommend Li-San. You will see skills begin to develop within a few short lessons and will be playing music in no time. And, it’s fun! Her program allows for creativity and makes practice fun!

Our son has been taking lessons with Li-San for a year and he loves it. He’s always loved playing the piano but he now is able to guild his own practice sessions after Li-San modeled this for him. He works on note accuracy, tempo, and dynamics all on his own and enjoys it. He’s now also picking out songs he’s heard from tv and school all on his own and improvising songs he knows already because of the skills taught by Li-San. She’s firm and direct but also constructive and positive. Our son likes her teaching style very much. We are very pleased. We are so happy we signed up for another year of lessons.

Li-San was truly amazing with my kiddos. She made learning piano enjoyable and exciting for them. In the short amount of time my kids worked with her they learned so much. It has been such a wonderful experience watching them have fun and gaining so much from their lessons with her. I would recommend Li-San to anyone looking for piano lessons especially children beginning. My kids loved their time with her and the difference in their abilities from when they started is really remarkable.
