Serenity Spa

I think I finally found my "place." I've been hoping to become a regular client somewhere in an effort to make more time for myself, and this place/location seemingly checks all of my boxes. So far, I've only seen Brooke for a massage (which was WONDERFUL), but I look forward to getting facials in the future as well. I specifically loved not feeling pressured to talk with Brooke, which may sound rude, but you know sometimes you just want to relax in silence and not feel forced to make small talk, though she did also seem easy to talk to if that is your thing. This location is also great, because there's free parking in a garage. It's next to a cute cafe and a library as well.

If I haven’t already given feedback here for Serenity Spa, then I’ve not been paying attention because this business is HANDS DOWN top notch and wonderful and relaxing and just the best! I’ve been to all three locations many times and over many years. UP location is stunning. Becoming a monthly member is key to contributing to a happy self. Currently in love with Kelly’s massages and Nathalie’s facials. The products they sell are yummy too! There is no better spa experience anywhere in Tacoma, period.

I went last week for the first time. I really liked I was able to get in sooner than later compared to other places. I had Lori she was very kind and sweet. She focused on what I felt most pain on my body, however the only downfall is that I was short my 60 minutes. I had my appointment booked for 10:15am but there was paperwork to do which was super quick and simple, waited a few minutes then went with Lori. I did have to stop by the bathroom before Lori and I sat down to discuss my needs. I remember texting my husband at 10:24am while waiting to meet Lori. My massage was done at 11:15am. So I don’t know if all that waiting and using the bathroom prior and sitting down to discuss my needs was to be included in the 60min because I highly believe it should not.

I do plan to go back again but I will be bringing it up at check in.

I booked the Serene Duo package as it was a gift from my husband for Valentine’s Day. I went to my appointment yesterday with all of the intentions of relaxing. I had my massage first with Lorie who was absolutely amazing! It was my first time getting a massage and she was wonderful explaining things and helping me breathe. I was very sore after receiving my booster and working out earlier in the week and she really relieved all of the soreness I was experiencing. I highly recommend her for a massage and will be back in the future.

As for my facial with Robin, which came after my massage, it was just okay. I really wanted to relax the entire time and get a glowy facial/address some skin issue, which she did wonderfully, but I didn’t have a chance to relax the entire time as she wouldn’t stop talking. I know that’s a personal preference but if someone really likes to relax and enjoy quiet time the entire time you’re there, I would schedule your facial first and then maybe your massage. I also thought the extractions she did were very painful and I honestly have no idea what she put on my face except for one product because she didn’t tell me. Also a personal preference, but I like to know everything that’s going on my skin.

Overall, I will definitely go back. Just schedule my treatments differently!
