  We are a military family and, as such, move rather frequently. Trust me when I say we have enough experience with different schools to be able to give a fair review here. Let me just say that THIS is the school to compare all others to. They just do it right: from the drop-off and pickup process, to the curriculum, to providing extra help or an extra challenge where it's needed, to extra-curriculars and activities (the Auction is the best!) and sports (dance team, basketball, volleyball, track and field, and more!), to the music and productions, to the DELICIOUS hot lunches, to the way the staff and teachers genuinely LOVE the children and LOVE their jobs. And did I mention that this little gem of a school is located in the beautiful nature of Snohomish county. The children can often be seen following their teachers out onto the Butterfly Trail down to the little pond. Oh the outdoors...

  Our boys have been attending Zion Lutheran since 2008, they are in 5th and 6th grade now. We did go to public school for "almost" one year for family reasons in 2014-2015 and it was a horrible experience. My children were just another number, the teacher wasn't capable of establishing and maintaining a relationship with her students and the principal was not an advocate for the children in her care. Quite the very opposite here at Zion. Excellent leadership starts from the top. Lynne (Principal) is filled with the spirit of Christ-like behavior, her leadership is with a calm demeanor who believes in teaching the child the same when a disciplinary action needs to take place. She has high expectations of her staff and as a result you have excellent, loving, caring and attentive teachers.
  Your child will be taught as a whole body rather than just being taught to take standardized testing.

  Our family has been at Zion for over 16 years. All our children graduated eighth grade. The "family" environment and christian views permeates every aspect of the curriculum and atmosphere here. My children were taught with individual attention and care. The small class sizes and intense curriculum prepared them well for high school and beyond.

  This our 4th year at ZLS and we plan on being there another 5 years. My daughter has had 3 amazing teachers I can't say enough positive about. Mrs H, the principal, greets families by name most mornings. I love the small class sizes and the younger grades all have an EA in each class. Parents are encouraged to participate in the classroom and field trips. My daughter recently had some medical issues that the staff prayed about and always asked how she was or what the next step was. Unlike public schools, it was genuine concern and she wasn't just another number.

  We love the teachers, staff and principal at ZLS. They're great people and educators and genuinely care for each child. Hands on learning, field trips, music, drama, and small class sizes! So many good things to say about Zion, it's like our second family.
