  Great trails to take a walk through. Eco-friendly toilets available for use. Beautiful view of the river!

  A lovely path to walk. Very kid friendly. I don't think dogs are allowed but I see them sometimes.

  Just a small nature preserve on what was a small farm kept up by the local audobon society. There are some short trails ranging from the cedar loop at 2/10s of a mile (and handicap accessible) the the kingfisher at just over 2. Nothing exotic or dramatic, but a beautiful and nicely maintained place to hike or walk your dog. Oh, there is also a pavilion and bathrooms and lots of benches for bird watching

  Love this place! Short trails, views of the river, places to rest, picnic tables for lunch, simple bathrooms, and gardens. This most recent time I visited I checked out the pollinator garden near the parking lot, and enjoyed the various moths and butterflies in the flowers. Great place to relax and get some Vitamin N!

  I ate total sugar-honey-iced-tea on an slick part of the trail after it rained. The caretaker was super friendly and helpful. I'll certainly visit again, in autumn, because even overcast the land was gorgeous. If the lovely person who helped me is reading this, thanks again!

Yankauer Preserve - Potomac Valley Audubon Society

The 104-acre Yankauer Nature Preserve is located in Berkeley County, WV, just northwest of Shepherdstown. This preserve is historic farmland that is now forested. The backside of the preserve overlooks the Potomac River. Yankauer is the best location for a spring native wildflower walk of PVAS's four preserves.
