  We stopped at this museum as part of spending the day at Harpers Ferry...and I have to say it was one of the more thought provoking things we have done in awhile. How does one protest something you believe so strongly? The displays are a little dated (for $7, it’s still a great deal)...but the topic seems particularly relevant to today. Highly recommend a stop if you’re in town. You could probably spend plenty of time, but the 30-minute walk through was well worth it.

  This has been right in my backyard for a decade, and I never knew it. It is a step back in time. John Brown's history comes alive as so much of the town is perfectly preserved. The mountain and River views are spectacular. The park rangers are great. Only draw back is the lack of parking. They do have buses, but it makes the visit harder. I'll be back!

  A good history lesson, and still just as creepy as I remember it being when I was in the fourth grade. My kids (10, 12, & 14) all enjoyed it.
  
  The upkeep of the building left much to be desired. There was an strong mildew odor throughout, despite obvious attempts to cover it with air fresheners. Lots of peeling wall paper and floors in need of cleaning or repair.
