“For and outgoing staff of experienced thru-hiker volunteers. I came with my 10-yr-old son in the dead of February, and they were warm and welcoming and helped me build his enthusiasm for backpacking whenever the weather finally warms up a little this Spring. Very much enjoyed visiting the ATC!”

“My wife and I stayed here for 1 night after hiking the Appalachian trail. The owner was so kind she gave us food recommendations and offered any assistance we needed and trust me we looked horrible. The room was amazing and the breakfast top notch. We will definitely be making our way back here.”

“My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights in the Studebaker Suite. When we walked in we were amazed at the gorgeous decor and amenities we had. The bed is extremely comfortable and there is a window nearby that looks out to the beautifully maintained gardens. The kitchenette was small, but had everything we needed. They stocked it with some food and snacks that helped our nightly cravings. It is on the top of the hill of lower town in Harpers ferry. It is a short walk downhill to get to the main town and there is an Appalachian trial pick up extremely close to the place. We loved the location and being able to walk around and see the sites without having to drive. It is also very quiet in that area, which we enjoyed to just sit back and relax. Lynn and Christian are wonderful hosts and make sure you have everything you need. We highly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back again!”

“Found this trail as I was hiking on the AT back to my car. The Potomac Heritage Trail branches off the AT going to the left downhill. Alternate route down to the road. Steep, with loose gravel. Wear sturdy footwear...and hiking poles helpful!”

“I took the train to Harper's Ferry, spent the night here, and biked back to DC along the C&O Canal the next day. The hotel was clean, comfortable and inexpensive. There was a hot breakfast, with sausages and eggs, as well as the usual bagels and cereal. Unlike others, I was not disturbed by noise or idling trucks. It would have been nice to have premium cable - ESPN or HBO - but for the price I did not expect it. The hotel is outside of town (actually in Bolivar, the next town up the river), and there are no places to eat nearby, so unless you have a car you should get dinner in Harper's Ferry, as it's a pretty good walk from the train. There are lots of B&Bs in town, but I like my king size bed and cable TV. If that describes you, this is where you should stay.”

“Cool! Go all the way to the way and follow the trail to more historic sites along the river... like the water tunnels...on your way to lower town.”
