Suzanne will not say it, but she is a healer; her magic hands and deep knowledge/skill/intuition heal through massage. She wordlessly tailors each session to what you need for physical/spiritual/mental health.
I started suffering from migraines about 20 years ago, shortly after my daughter was born. I tried to identify triggers. Sometimes I thought it was too much screen time. Sometimes stress. I tried to make sure I stayed hydrated and was prescribed sumatriptan (Imitrex). The problem with it, though, is you have to take it when the migraine is starting. I would often wake up with a migraine, making it too late to take it. I would have one or more a week. The "rolling migraines" were the worst. Those would come and go for days in a row. I had pretty much accepted that migraines had become a part of my life.
Then Suzanne, who has been my massage therapist for several years, suggested I try light therapy. I went twice a week every week in December. The light therapy portion would last 20 minutes. All I had to do was lie on the table and situate the flexible light panel around my head. Afterwards, Suzanne would massage my head, shoulders and neck for another 15 minutes. In all, I went for 10 sessions.
I have been migraine-free so far this month! I honestly can't believe it! It seems like such a simple solution ... almost too simple to work. But it has.
I would encourage anyone who suffers from migraines to give this a try. The light therapy coupled with the massage proved a healing combination for me. I am thankful I gave it a try! Life without migraines is so nice!
