A little bit of a steep climb down a hill to visit the great site of lake Michigan definitely worth a hike it's a quiet peaceful place with a small loop trail around the bottom you can relax and enjoy the sounds of lake Michigan and just meditate
Always a great place for a nature walk
Small but beautiful little alcove of nature along lake Michigan.
Beautiful little park on the lakeside. Went in late April, so the wildflowers were just starting to bloom. So pretty!

This is a difficult "park" to find. As you enter Shorewood from the Milwaukee border on Lake Dr., you'll find a wooden sign with Nature Preserve on it. This is just a somewhat steep trail down to the beach. It feels a lot steeper coming back up! This is a great place for birdwatching currently.
Spring flowers turn the woods blue. Shorewood Nature Preserve, at 3600 N. Lake Drive, is a small trail that leads to Lake Michigan. It can be a bit tricky to find, as it is just marked with a wooden sign and is tucked between homes on Lake Drive, between Lake Park and Atwater Beach Park.
Get directions, reviews and information for Shorewood Nature Preserve in Milwaukee, WI. The preserve is a wonderful little getaway along Lake Michigan. The walk down to the water is a bit steep and may be wet- I suggest tennis or hiking shoes.
Sign at trail head. There are plenty of steps you can climb in Milwaukee Parks, but there are few real hills. The last time I wrote, I hiked at Doctor's Park to help break in both my winter body and some new hiking boots. Today I went to Shorewood Nature Preserve.
