Osceola & St. Croix Valley Railway

Great experience! My 3 1/5 yr old grandson, who is a railroad "expert", was thrilled to ride a train. The pumpkin patch in Dresser was a lot of fun, too. We had super weather and enjoyed the fall colors. Thank you to Barb for answering my questions in advance. All the staff were very helpful.

My husband & I took our son on the Pumpkin Express ride. It is a short Fall train ride that ends at a pumpkin patch & series of food trucks & vendors. You can enjoy the activities, & later the train comes back & returns everyone to the Depot. I was impressed by how attentive & thorough that the staff manning the train were. The train was packed with families & small children were everywhere. The staff was very safety oriented & took special care to help older & younger people get up & down from the train cars. Staff was friendly & helpful if anyone had questions. The ride ride itself was not particularly smooth or bumpy. It is an old train & you can tell, but it was not uncomfortable and the scenery was beautiful. My 5 year old son enjoyed very much.

The fall color tour was a great experience, very beautiful to sight see. We brought our 4 boys and their great grandma. I love that they had accommodations for people who may need more assistance with loading on the train and off. The staff and people were great! The only thing I would complain about is people who ride this train are so rude and there are many that don't clean up after themselves. Trash was left behind and a lot of the windows were very filthy to see out. Cleanliness definitely needs to be addressed. Snacks and beverages for purchase, cash only! Overall happy with our tour, the length and the prices were great! Keep an eye out for the waterfall and the eagles nest!

My 2 granddaughters (ages 4 & 6) were so excited to go on this new adventure! It was a cloudy, rainy afternoon but the train ride didn’t disappoint! It was actually a great way to spend a wet day.
The views were great near and far. The girls loved crossing the river on the trestle bridge, loved waving to hikers and others standing nearby waving back and loved passing by the farm with cows, chickens and pigs. On the way home one of the girls drew a picture of our fun trip. I would highly recommend a train ride adventure.

Overall our visit was good. Staff was friendly, train ride was enjoyable. Only suggestion I would recommend is to better coordinate the large parties and their boarding. We arrived way early to board early in line. Boarding began and when we got to the train we were told the large party of 25 or more were allowed to board first and we either had to wait or go to another line. With proper planning and signage this would not have happened.
