Skillet Creek Campground

Went there for the weekend. Was a nice place. Playground was ok. Bathroom was clean. I will say that wood was very expensive. $15 for a wheelbarrow full doesn’t last long. Site was ok. Little muddy but wet weekend. Maybe gravel pads for the future. I would return a again in the future

We’ve tent camped here several times each year since 2020. Even after change of ownership, it’s always been a great experience for us. We enjoy being away from the busy state park to sleep. We’ve been there in July, August, September, October. The fall foliage when visiting in October is breathtaking at this campground. Bathrooms are always super clean, good hot showers. The only time we had an issue was with some noisy neighbors up until 4am being so loud. We understand that is okay until quiet hours and gave them some grace until closer to midnight, but we ended up hollering at them from our tent a couple of different times in early morning hours. Looking back we should have called the owner! Usually a very busy campground but always pleasant experience.

Hidden gem! We have camped at Devil's Lake and we prefer this campground over the state run campground. It's just as close, but the sites are huge compared. The bathrooms were always clean and the shower temperature was perfect. The store is open late for last minute things and the owners are the sweetest people ever. We would definitely come back here.

Wonderful experience at this family friendly campground! Owners friendly and accommodating. If the camp store doesn’t have it, you don’t need it! From clean, hot showers anytime to catch-and-release fishing to movie night, this is a family-geared campground with extras all over. Rumor has it, they’re working on a beach for next summer! Definitely going to return. Only 1 mile from Devil’s Lake. Quiet at night and very affordable.

We were out at Devils Lake, planning on doing some camping at the state park but all the sites were full. I happened upon Skillet Creek Campground and we had a great time! The owner was very warm, friendly and hospitable. He set us up with a nice little spot, tucked away near the fishing lake. This was our first camping trip a young family, and it could not have been better. Our three-year-old and one-year-old both had a great time. Thank you very much for the great experience!
