“Lauber's doesn't open until late spring and closes in the fall, so check community sites before visiting. However, this classic, ice cream parlor was the backdrop of many idyllic, childhood, summer days and continues to be a treat I share with my own kids. You can always ask for your favorite ice cream in any of their featured sundaes (I get mint chip in the Dusty Road!) and extra wafers. Then stock up on more sugar, on your way out, at the vintage candy counter. Weekends, when folks from out of town come to ride the trolley next door, are very busy, and sometimes there is a wait. I do believe it is worth it just for the experience. If you can do come on the first Fridays of any summer or early autumn month, take the short walk to the Square "downtown" and enjoy the evening activities or some of the local restaurants.”

“I really enjoyed the train museum. If you're into trains then this is a very nice place to visit. There is a lot of old railroad equipment on display. The train rides are scenic and relaxing. Great place for families and young kids to experience.”

“The service is great here, the staff is very attentive and prompt even in their busiest times. Many items off the menu are great, pizza is really good and filling as well as some of their soups and sandwiches! This place is a hidden gem!”

“My father-in-law, Joe, was at RidgeStone for 2 years. He was 92 years old when he first went into assisted living. We were very impressed with the staff, the facility, the food, and the management. The staff were very friendly, competent and caring. You could tell they really cared for Joe. There was almost no staff turnover. Although I visited often, they would call me with updates or issues. Dawn, the activities co coordinator, would get him involved in activities and cook special breakfasts. The staff became my friends as well as Joe's, we will miss them. The rooms are well designed, with a living room, kitchenette and bathroom, they are bright and kept clean. Joe appreciated his comfortable room and the individual temperature setting, he liked it at 78 degrees. The food was very good, my husband and I ate there on occasion. Joe was not so fond of the food but he got to the point where he was not happy with any food, even his old favorites at 5 star restaurants. The only thing he liked was deserts. The management was very supportive of Joe's needs, his mental and physical well being. Marsha was so kind and loving towards all the residents. She worked with us to ensure Joe's mental and physical well being were both being met. If you are considering an assisted living facility, I would highly recommend RidgeStone. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful 2 years for Joe!!!!!!!”
