I had my soul crushed after moving from out of state and discovering the South facing apartment balcony did not get enough sun on my plants, but some quick thinking and a phone call later and the very helpful staff from the UW extension office had my papers ready to go. This year, it was $50 for a 200 sq ft plot of land. So far, they seem really friendly and laid back. Having gotten into the garden late, there was quite a bit of work to do prepping my bed for my giant tomatoes and peppers. Had I gotten in at a sane time of year, this could have been avoided since they plow the garden every spring. My fellow Gardener's have been both friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to go for different materials such as straw mulch. I plan to be back at it next year though.
