“Took my old 1996 Subaru Outback here for some muffler work on a recommendation of a co-worker. My regular mechanic wanted to replace the catalytic converter all the way back to the muffler, would have cost about $600 or more. So I thought i would give them a shot on a whim and see what happens. The owner put it up on the lift and pointed out that the muffler itself was fine and asked if the check engine light was coming on, to which I responded with a "no!". He then said that there was no need to replace the catalytic converter or the muffler, in fact these mufflers were built so well that he had never replaced one. He welded new pipes in place for $225. Works great, no issues! Save me a lot of money.”
