“I have lived in Milwaukee for most of my life, and have been familiar with Alexian Village over the years through my work as an RN in Care Management in Milwaukee County. When it came time to look for a new home for my mother, Alexian was on the top of our list. My mother fell in love with Alexian from the get-go. We were treated so warmly by the marketing staff (Amber!), who made my mom feel that she would be welcomed and happy. My mom is a very social person, and wanted a facility offering socialization and activities. She moved into a beautiful apartment in the independent living, and has been there for almost 2 years, and could not have been happier. She loves her new friends, the food, the "happy hour", the memory and exercise classes, movie night and all the other activities offered in and out of the facility (music, shopping, local events). ALL of the staff she encounters routinely have been kind and helpful. I am giving 4 stars, vs 5, due to other experiences that I have encountered over the years in the assisted living area. I have had friends there, and see the common experience of not enough aide staff. This is chronic EVERYWHERE, in long term care. It's unfortunate, and I do not believe Alexian is any worse than other long term care facilities. It is always important for a resident to have an advocate looking out for their needs, no matter where you are. Alexian works VERY HARD I believe, to maintain the quality of their organization and facilities, and I see this as an ongoing objective of the organization.”
