“We were looking for a quiet fishing spot. This was a fairly quiet place. Nice clean spot with facilities. We spent about an hour fishing from the bank, but got hung up at least 5 times. Neither of us were familiar with the area, so I'm not sure if that's normal here or not. I'd love to come back with a row boat! We saw quiet a few bass jumping, and saw a tiny perch and blue gill. (Where there's tiny ones, there's sure to be bigger ones)”

“Beautiful! I recently went here and I couldn’t get over the gardens and hiking trails! A must-see if you’re in the Madison area. They have a cool little sandbox area for kids to play too (with toys and a tiny book library). The gardens were beautiful. Lots of flowers and plants for pollinators too which I loved seeing. The trail I went on was beautiful. There was a walk in the woods on an hill overlooking the water as well as a walk through some prairie. Highly recommend!”

“Perfect hike for our family of 5 (3 kids ages 4, 6, and 8). 45 min from parking to the top. Just a little steep hiking right near the end, so as soon as the whining started we were already at the summit! Caution though: STEEP DROP OFFS at the top. Fantastic views, but really need to monitor children closely.”

“The walking trails were well marked. This was my first hike, so a bit uncertain about terrain and distance of each trail. Encountered a few other hikers while at the conservation park, but generally very private and secluded. Loads of wild flowers, wildlife and tranquility to enjoy nestled in the neighbors of Madison, WI.”

“Gorgeous park once you get to the top. It isn't maintained but that is how a nature preserve is suppose to be. Once on top the views are breathtaking and incredible. Great praire and woods to explore. Definitely a well hidden gem. I just found it and have been living in the area for years. A well worth trip to spend a day or even a half of a day.”

“This is Rusty's favorite place to play. We drive up from Jackson so he can play with his friends there. He loves running in the woods while I walk the paths. And enjoys the large open field to play ball or chase with his friends. I love the people. They pay attention to their animals and are great to talk to. Everyone looks out for all the dogs and is happy to share some water. The only reason I didn't say 5 stars is because I would like to see the grill in the large dog park removed as this is not an area where food belongs. Also, it would be nice and have a place to get water for the dogs. We all bring jugs from home.”
