Four years later after having moved to Meridian…his dream came true one day when the guys from station #2 showed up on my street. My super talkative boy was so awe-struck that he was literally speechless. The guys pulled him up inside the truck, gave him a sticker, a hat, and a full tour!!!!! Little did my son know that I was living a childhood dream through his eyes too. These guys totally made our day and left a wonderful memory. May God continue to bless and use these local heroes.”

“This is the only place we go for fish fry Fridays! Good prices and yummy food! Also, the fireman always respond to fires, accidents, etc very quickly. The volunteers are very dedicated to keeping their department, equipment, engines, pumps and trucks clean and in tip-top working order so that the community can feel safe. When they come around each street on their PA system selling hoagies to raise funds, we always make sure we buy some - and they're always yummy! They rent out the hall for parties as well as hold BINGO once a week. What makes me sad is that so many volunteer fire departments are in desperate need of new members and not many people are stepping up. Not only does this hurt the departments, but it negatively effects our communities. Fires can't be controlled properly without enough people to fight them ... Car wrecks and other accidents won't be handled quickly and easily without enough people to help out ... Ambulance services suffer without fire departments to back them up when needed. I hope this trend doesn't get worse.”
