“So I was riding my electric bike (I'm visually impaired due to a brain tumor) on the way to guffey canyon to pick up any trash and enjoy the beauty, the battery on the bike failed and caught fire. A friendly neighbor happened by and helped me put dirt on the fire. The response of the volunteers was rather prompt and the EMS people were top notch. She even asked if I needed a blood glucose check as I'm type 1 Diabetic! All in all fantastic help from dedicated people. A+ and thank you!”

“It is a really nice VOLUNTEER FIRE STATION located on MIDDLE ROAD. The Old Station that was REPLACED was turning into an old Relic & was STARTING to Fall Apart, ACCORDING to some of the VOLUNTEERS that Manned the Fire Trucks & Pumpers inside the Station. My Wife & I had attended Several Different Functions in the OLD BUILDING & We both thought that it was HOLDING UP OK, but a NEW STATION would be a WELCOMED SIGHT & Would be much APPRECIATED by everyone in the AREA. Tho A NEW "MIDDLE ROAD VFD STATION 174" would be a BETTER & MORE of a SAFER COMMODITY for ALL Concerned.”

“Last Wednesday Aug 24th. The fine men of Anchorage came to my home on a emergency call. My husban was having chest pains and I was at work. When I got home they had my 3 year old son in their arms to keep him from getting upset. This meant the world to me! My husband is fine. Todayi go to to the station to give them home made banana pudding and say thank you. The guy at the visitor desk could have care less even after I told him my name twice. To the rest of the fire fighters there THANK YOU!!!”

“On Feb. 16, 2023, I showed up at Station 16 and rang the doorbell. I could not make it to the hospital. Men ran out snatched me out of the truck and into ambulance working on me from all sides trying to get air in my lungs and get overworked heart to chill. I believe there were 4 men and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, professionalism and speed. The wife of one of the guys hit me up on social media to let me know they had it, when I called my phone they explained how they found it. I went to the station to retrieve it and the guys had totally saved the day! Tax dollars at work! Refreshing honestly in today's world, my $80 cash was even still in it!”
