“My Worst Hotel Experience Ever Good Nite Inn Camarillo I have done extensive traveling all over the United States which includes roughly 40 out of 50 states...I have also made a couple trips to Europe and to the point, have stayed in a vast number of Hotels/Motels and of varying degrees of quality. This hotel has clean rooms that were nicely maintained BUT none of that is worth the embarrassment of having the cops called on you by the front desk. Bear with me as I give the details and FACTS... My wife was partaking in a 50 kilometer trail marathon in Malibu this last Saturday, Feb 2, 2019. The time in which she would finish the race and get back to the Hotel where I and my 3 sons of the ages of 1, 3, & 12 were waiting would be approximately 1pm. We were given a late checkout of 12pm by the front desk associate the night before. She made no note of it because when I spoke to the front desk at 12:05 pm they were not aware of this and questioned me as if I made it up. Anyways, I was calling them from room to inform them that we did not need room service and that because I knew my wife would be a physical wreck after the race that I was going to pay for another night. The associate then proceeded to lie to me that due to various reasons and conditions that the room would be a higher amount this second night. I did not argue but simply agreed and said I would be to office to pay in 5-10 minutes. 10 minutes later I entered the office, said I would pay cash and provided an ID and Metal Black MasterCard for incidentals. Moments later I was told that my license has expired and therefore not valid and they could not except any form of payment from me. I was then told I needed to checkout and "vacate" the room regardless that my wife was now within an hour from being back at the room. Without raising my voice nor uttering any profanity I told them that I was not packing my stuff up with 2 babies and another young child to be outside in weather that was pouring down rain. He then said he would contact the proper authorities...Trying to avoid an unnecessary conflict, even though they would look as the buffoons, I contacted my wife who sent me a pic of my Driver's license that had not expired and I even went as far to book the room again and pay in full online (for the same amount as the night before, is how I found out he was lying about circumstances earlier). They had no interest in looking at my license sent to me as an attachment via text, didn't care the room was paid for, and for a lack of better words very defensive and confrontational. So I went back to the room to wait for the police. The police came to the room 10-15 minutes later, were utterly confused by the hotels actions, went back to the office and spoke to them where the office now agreed to let us stay until my wife arrived. All that hassle to get my kids and I kicked out, all the while missing the opportunity to fill the room another night and save the expense of having to service the room that day. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, the real message of my post is to say Thank You to the two officers who were polite, listened, and did actually care for my families well being. Unknown to them the oldest boy in that room has always spoken of being a police officer, since the age of 4, when he grew up and the two officers we dealt with were excellent role models in which any kid could look up to. Good looking out! Thank you!”

“I was home one night and heard what I thought was the sound of thunder extremely loud and extremely close almost at my door step is or so it seemed. So I looked out front and noticed the noise stopped but started again this time quieter. I look to see if it was a truck or maybe hear the freight train but none of it came from either of the two. That's when I noticed it was coming from a vehicle leaving the stop sign. So I immediately just thought wow those brakes need to be changed.. Then about 15 min later I hear the sound again and when I looked it was definitely coming from the car that was at the stop sign before. I got a funny feeling about it and asked my wife if she heard the noise which she did. I decided to look up the non emergency line for the Police and told dispatch what happened and that the car was sitting at the entrance of the subdivision for a few minutes. Then about 30 min later I head outside to take out the trash for the following day and saw the cherries flashing and long behold a Police officer a fire truck and an ambulance arrived and had the vehicle pulled over. I went over to make sure everything was ok with that person then I come to find out, it was an old woman who had Diabetes and didn't know where she was or had any sense of direction due to her blood sugar level. I'm happy with the prompt response from the officers and the kindness of the officer that took care of this woman. I feel God put it in my heart to call and I feel like I had something to do with saving her life, which inclined me to make this review not for myself but for dispatch and for the officer that helped this woman get to safety and to seek the treatment that was greatly needed. God bless you Gilberts Police. Thank You for your work...”
