“When I first moved to the east side of Porterville, I was very afraid of sending my kids to the local school. It looked like a rough neighborhood, so I assumed the school would be as well. I was wrong. The staff is very caring, very student-oriented, and very good at communicating with parents and the community with needs of the children, the school, Food Services, and Health Services. The teachers and staff have been very easy to communicate with, and have gone out of their way to help students when they were in danger weather academically or even physically by having regular preparedness drills. My kids absolutely love the cafeteria. They make very good on the spot food.”

“I saw my grandson perform here. It's cozy inside the theater. I had some difficulty getting out afterwards. The risers are too steep for older folks. We were sitting 5 of us in 4 chairs. The row in front of ours had more patrons than seats also. The sound was really good. The kids are fabulous honestly.”

“Miss Lena is a great piano teacher. My daughter had her for many years and her love for music grew bigger each year. She is going to college now and still enjoys playing piano. Lena Getman is very professional and knowledgeable at what she does. Her individual approach to her students’ needs is really wonderful. My daughter learned all kinds of music with her, from classical to singing and playing pop music on piano. She is not teaching by clock, but she is putting her everything into her students until they succeed. Her recitals were celebrations bringing together not only her students but families too. I really recommend Lena Getman.”

“My teacher is not afraid to call us ignorant. She hates my class because we aren't perfect straight A goody-goody students. She will slap her stick in front of people to scare them and make them jump! So cruel. My friend said one sentence to someone when we were packing at the end of the day and had to write all the 8s in multiplication 20 times each. I'm NOT exaggerating. It is unfair here! We rarely get recess because my fifth grade playground always floods. The gym and sixth grade play ground are perfectly fine on those days we have to sit in the hall for 20 minutes without saying a word. One day in the cafeteria, under my table was a roach. The next day, a boy found a ten inch hair in his burrito! I could go on and on about complaints for this stupid school, but i'm not gonna waist anymore time. Just wanted to let you know that your child is SUFFERING MISERABLY here! Adults are just mean here. (Except Mrs. Dean. She cares :))”

“My 2 kids now ages 3 and 4 have been attending this school for over a year now. We love this school and the teachers who work so hard to care for the kids. They serve healthy breakfast lunch and afternoon snacks ( very little processed food - minimal reliance on goldfish crackers). And they've taken extra precautions during covid - the school performs their own covid pcr testing every other week. Teacher give almost daily updates on how the kids did at school. Parking lot can get crowded during drop off and pick up times but I know this is not unusual for preschools”
