“This place is awesome for un-American stuff. If you go here to buy ketchup, for example, they're going to hit you in the head. For groceries and 'different' things, it's a great place to shop. Smells a little funny but that's because they sell 'different' things like leg of lamb (see photo), which was $140 by the way, fish heads, various types of live fish, etcetera. It's always busy there so be ready!”

It takes me back to some of my favs from my island roots and also from loving foreign foods, things that you don't find in other grocery stores. The samples are wonderful and I purchased some great soup broths to try.”

“I am new to Elmwood Park and have been going to Gambino's about 2-3 times a week for the past month and a half. I love this store and think it has a great set-up and everything I need is there. It is about 5 minutes walk from my apartment and very close-nit family store that provides almost everything I need. I would definitely want to note that some of their produce is old and you would need to look at the apples, oranges, and other produce you buy before you checkout. I bought apples and various other fruits and found our they were bad on the inside so I don't think I'll buy any fruits from here again and threw away all of the apples I bought... On the other hand, their deli staff in the back of the store are very nice and are a great help. They are very friendly and when they are getting my order done they are talking with the customers and making connections with you. Other store staff including the younger cashiers are also nice and get you checked out very quickly and on your way. I would only recommend to the store owner to have a staff member out in the produce section that will take care of the produce that is out in the open. I have rated two stars just because of the issue that I ran through, other than that the store is perfect and clean. I will update my review when I have a better experience next time I go through. Thank you.”

“Nice "Mexican" supermarket. Has a strong selection and nice prices surrounding all the produce and Latin American items as well as a full service butcher/deli counter and a bakery with traditional pastries. I go there alot for the limes and every once in a while they have unbelievable prices on tilapia. Although I would not go here for all my grocery needs, I usually will stop here in addition to whatever grocery store has the rest of my list on special.”

“Today I went there and purchased Gain for 1.95 using their digital coupon from their website. It was a great deal! The detergent was not well stocked at all although they did have what I came for. There where boxes everywhere but they did not obstruct my path. It didn't seem dirty although a little cluttered by the boxes which there were employees working on. The only other aisle that I went down was the hair care aisle. It was well stocked and I was happy to see that there was a great selection for ethnic hair which I can't say for some other retailers. The cashier was friendly. No real complaints.”
