“I am a first time dog owner and this animal hospital came recommended from the shelter I adopted my dog from. In the 7 months that I have been a dog owner, I have called this office a million times to ask random questions about my dog's health and when to be concerned, and they are always super helpful! When my dog got really sick a few weeks back, they made time in their busy schedule to get her in and helped me understand everything I needed to do to help her get better! I think everybody is always concerned about a vets office trying to get them to spend more money than necessary or be taken advantage of, but I can confirm that doesn't happen here! So thankful for their staff!!”

“My dog became very ill due to cancer. 🎗️😔 I paid $300 to put my dog to sleep, have her cremated and I get to have her ashes back. I was offered different available choices... I got the biodegradable ashes in a bag so we can plant Rosy (our dog) under a tree. The bag comes with seeds to grow her ashes with roses🌹🌹 Good price, Staff were professional, quick, gave us same day service and we were attended quickly. We we're allowed to stay with our dog throughout the process (including my 13 year old). We were provided assistance with getting our dog off the truck and onto a gurney and we were provided a quiet room to grieve. I am really grateful to have this caring hospital in Bakersfield and grateful to have caring staff to make this process easier and supportive during a difficult time.❤️🏥💯 Thank you ALL❣️”

“Very! Great! Veterinarian. Major my half rot half husky ate a rope and some plastic. Dr Stephanie was a God sent. She removed the rope and plastic. She made Major feel at home, she treated him as if he was family, me as well. “Dr. B is awesome! We took our baby to get spayed and come to find out she had inflammation of her uterus. He took his time and explained everything step by step. A week later our beautiful Halo is running around and she is a while new doggy. She’s so happy and we are so happy to have found the best Dr. for our baby. She also had tooth extractions and had the worst breath ever and now she has no bad breath and happy as can be. The office staff was amazing. The girls were so attentive to our baby as well as my husband and I. I will highly recommend this Dr. to anybody who wants the best for their pets. “I needed a last minute Vet visit for my elderly kitty who had a serious health event. They worked me in and helped my little girl. They were extremely nice, kind, and caring. They exceeded my expectations and my little girl wasn’t stressed out after the visit. I will be going back in the future. Follow-up…. My little one took a turn for the worse and had to be put down. I didn’t go to my regular vet, I went back to Peppertree. They were all so kind and caring. They made an incredibly difficult thing to do very compassionate and did it with great care. When another kitty decides to adopt me, I will be calling Peppertree for an appointment.”

“We started going to Dr. Ashley Claunch and Dr. Nancy McGregor for a second opinion on one of our cats to get as much information and care for her as possible in a very difficult time and we loved them so much we stayed on as regular patients with all our cats. The staff and Doctors are compassionate, sweet, and personable. We've had some difficult cases with our cats but they are there each time to offer expert advice, information, and tender care in the worst of times. I would never expect a Doctor or Vet to call me after hours on her own time but Dr.McGregor did just that when one of my sweet but not so bright orange boys potentially swallowed a foreign body. They all go above and beyond and we see that and appreciate you all!”

“I brought Charlie in three weeks ago for a massive ear hematoma. The office was super efficient and got him right in for surgery the same day. Everyone we spoke to or had any interaction with was friendly, caring and I definitely felt like they all had Charlie’s best interests in mind. That being said, I do have to agree with several other reviews, they are EXPENSIVE. I understand as an emergent care facility, the price is obviously more than a regular vet, this was just a lot more than I could have anticipated. Both vets that spoke with us (Dr. Dodda and Dr. Siva) and handled Charlie over the last three weeks are knowledgeable and supportive, all the techs obviously love animals as well. Everyone made sure we understood all care instructions and medications and gave us an estimate before anything was done. We fully appreciate the level of care our dog received here just wish price was a little more manageable. Will return again if needed though!”

“I highly recommend this vet. On 7/18 My dog was suddenly paralyzed, No explanation, he had not been injured prior to this so I was very worried and i didn’t know what to expect. The first thing in the morning I called several veterinarians. (to be exact 30 different places). Around the area. Unfortunately they all required an appointment, I explained that it was an emergency but sill they didn’t want to see him. :( (I couldn’t effort to take him to UCDavis since my financial situation changed. I called Family Pet Hospital, they were very busy as well but They told me that they were going to ask the DR about my emergency and they would call me back because they wanted to try their best to put me on the schedule. Finally Gabrielle called me a few minutes later with the good news that they were going to take him. I’m very grateful to her as well as to the DR and all of her staff. they were very friendly. Fortunately my dog Pinocchio is very healthy now and he can walk ,run and live a very happy life. Thank you Family Pet!!”
