“I recently ordered mini pastries (muffins, scones, croissants, donut holes) for a baby shower breakfast. I thought they had made a mistake because the pastries were almost regular size. ALL of the pastries were delicious, flavorful, light & fluffy and everyone loved them. Anita was a pleasure, and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff, and she even helped me out to the car. This was my first visit, and it is obviously a well known hidden gem as there were people in line out the door. I would definitely recommend and will go back in the future.... “Ran across this restaurant on our way home in KY. The food was absolutely delicious. I had meatloaf with baked potato, baby carrots and side salad. The meatloaf was great and nice size serving. The sides and salad was also very good. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs with a very good marinara sauce and a side salad. She also said her meal was very good. I’ll save the best for last and that would be their bakery items. We could not eat our desert because of being full from our meal, so we got our desert to go. I had a large eclair that was stuffed full of a vanilla cream filling. When I say it was large it was very large and my wife and I split the eclair later that day. My wife had a large pastry with vanilla filling and topped off with very tasty cherry topping that we both enjoyed the next morning with coffee. If you ever near this restaurant I highly recommend it. Good country cooking at its best.”

“We got there during a Balloon Fiesta rush, so it was a bit slow, but all three employees were working as hard as they could. The soft roll breakfast sandwich is amazing - the bread is so fresh (of course) and the fillings were top quality. The pastries are beautiful, the coffee was good, and overall it is a cozy place to either pick up pastries and bread or to have breakfast or lunch. Great local place.”

I had to have them go my graduation drive bye: I got cookie dough, strawberry and fun fettie and they were amazing. I’m so happy I was able to get the 84 cupcakes in short notice. “I don't shop regularly at Publix, but I do go there regularly for treats. They have the kind of beer that my husband likes and so once in a while I'll run out to get just that, or just a sushi or two on $5 sushi day (Wednesday) for myself and a friend. My son always wants a ham sub and a chocolate milk from there so I'll get that for him if he's around. We all have our vices. 🤷🏼♀️👨👩👦🍱🍺🥖🥤 The staff is always very polite and helpful and the store is always clean. Once, I bought beer and the cardboard package was soft from it being cold and the condensation compromising the integrity of the box... I paid for it and carried it all the way out to my car just for the box to rip and fall, breaking several bottles and creating a stream of beer through the parking lot. I felt awful about it but figured I should tell someone so they didn't have a smelly sticky mess that they didn't know about... So I went back in and told them and not only were they really nice about cleaning it up, they gave me another case of beer to replace it. I definitely thought that was on me and I was going to have to buy another. They're great. ❤️”

“At first, I was a bit hesitant to give a review. After all, doing so would expose my addiction to the sweet taste of the fried dough we call donuts, but this place merits all 5 stars and more. So let me start by saying I got an assorted box of a dozen tasty, moist, baked to perfection treats—all to myself. If I am honest, I wasn't expecting too much. I mean. I've had Winchell's donuts before, and as a recovering donut addict, I knew what to expect. At least that's what I thought. But then the smell of dough and frosting felt enchanting as I walked back to my place, holding the box that was too big for my small hands. I could taste the sprinkles, the peanuts, the glaze in every step I took. Then I opened the box, and it was like discovering gold, but better! I told myself I would only have one, but I swear I heard angels sing in my first bite of that homemade blueberry donut. It was love at first bite! One blueberry donut turned into a glazed twist, a strawberry sprinkle, and when I least expected it, I was changing into my comfy pants while holding a donut in my mouth. The selection is broad and made with diligence. 10/10, I recommend this place for any occasion. The owner is ok, too. I don't know him well, but anyone who can wake up every day to make sure these pieces of heaven are fully stocked and made fresh every day is a donut God in my book. If you live in the area, this is a must-have, and if you don't, it is a must-have too. Don't sleep on the only Winchell's in La Habra!”
