“I have been a camp dad twice and done fire watch or security here several times, as well as helped to build some of the facilities here and Camp Stimson is fantastic! The young women from my stake that come here for girls camp every other year have a wonderful experience and a really terrific time. It’s a great place for them to build their testimonies and faith in Jesus Christ, and it’s very helpful for those girls that might not have a home life that is beneficial to their spiritual growth. It has also strengthened my own testimony as I have watched the young women, including both of my daughters, interact and bond with each other, and learn about their Savior.”

“I've visited with friends for boat rentals and kayak adventures. Willow Beach Harbor is setup for a nice river getaway from Vegas. When I hear the word beach, I think sand. There's no sand here, there's rocks, a river and plenty of amazing mountains scenery for the gram. If you're going to walk around in the water by the shoreline, I'd highly suggest some wearing water shoes. The shoreline is where most people set up canopies and start grilling when the weather allows for it. FYI, even during the hot summer days the river water is very cold for full on swimming. If you're cruising on the river via motorized boat, kayak, canoe, etc there's a good chance you'll be able to see some big horn sheep roaming around. The Marina building has a general store that has every water accessory that you forgot to buy or bring from home for the river. They're also pretty well stocked with water, beverages and snacks should you need them. Overall it's a pretty cool harbor to hang out for the day. Heading out in a kayak it's my biggest suggestion here as it's a great way to explore the river. Enjoy!”

“This is a great secluded camping site, but be prepared to travel at least an hour through rocks and dirt. 4x4 recommended. There are bathrooms but no running water so be prepared and there are no trash cans so be ready to take your trash with you.”

“A great hidden gem in the forest. The quality of residents is welcome and the cleanliness of the facilities is somewhat shocking for a small campground. A restaurant and pub in walking distance makes this place an absolute A+ stop.”

“This is the first place we have been to with our new camper. We went for Memorial Day weekend and we loved it! We have 3 kids and 2 dogs (who are large), and it was very comfortable for everyone. The pool was nice and my girls spent hours swimming. The spaces aren’t to cramped and everyone seemed respectful of each other. It wasn’t over crowded and the staff were really friendly. I just hope they get the store in the felt done soon.”

“I’ve gone to this camp for the past 3 summers and it’s so amazing! They have an amazing staff and the atmosphere is so fun and friendly. My favorite part of camp is seeing friendships form as well as the camp fires. I met my BFF here so I’m a little biased but it’s so amazing and definitely worth coming to.”

“This is a nice little campground, with bathrooms and showers. The sites are spacious and not stacked on each other. The most important reason to use this campground is you will be located in the midst of some great hiking trails.”

“I gotta say, even with over 1,000 sites- this place was pretty quiet and peaceful! The staff was absolutely pleasant and very accommodating. I will admit that after reading some of these reviews- I was definitely discouraged about spending 8 days, 7 nights here but I went in with an open mind, read the rules and respected them which is what you should do. We, a family of 6, had no issues. The crabbing dock/ fishing pier was small but efficient. The beach is not like a swim beach but more of a relaxing area looking over the bay. Our campsite was quite large. The bathhouse was very clean, and the hot water was perfect. Everything was perfect. I would recommend bringing bikes or a golf cart as its alot to walk in the heat. The only downfall I had here, and it's not the camps fault or problem- but it seemed the kids were nocturnal! 8 and 10 year old out in the playground areas at 1 and 2 am...what's up with that? My children were 17, 16 and 14 and I made sure they were at the site by 11pm. As I said, not the camps issue but as a mom, I couldn't believe it.”

“Nice staff that is very helpful. Some of the camping lots were better than others, we stayed in #10 which was secluded a little more than the others which was perfect. The facilities are not 5 star, but that's not what we were worried about.”

“We had a great time camping. Very kid friendly. It's a smaller campground (not over crowded) with big campsites. My only complaint is the shower. it had the water saver buttons. water goes off before I could get hair wet enough to shampoo. We would definitely go back.”

“We were greeted and checked in by a very friendly woman. Right off that bat I was happy by that. If you purchase fire wood from them they will drop it off at your site. The price to stay here is very good. The bathrooms and showers are extremely well kept. $2 for 6 minutes to shower. I’m good with that! There is a sink to wash dishes outside the restroom and a storage locker to keep all your food at each site. The only downside to this campsite is there is not much privacy. There are a lot of sites right next to each other.”

“I recently stayed at the cabin. I didn't want to leave. The cabin is rustic and offers an authentic mountain getaway but it has all of the modern conveniences that you would want or need. The cabin is comfortable, funky, and just plain cool. You could spend the day just sitting by the stream and relaxing. We did short hikes during the day while we were there, which were so beautiful. I would recommend this cabin for a night or a week. It's so peaceful, yet it's only 1 hour from Denver, and 15 minutes from the supermarket and other conveniences. I can't wait until I can visit again! Thank you!”
