“This was an interest spot. We only stayed here because Big Basin was all filled up. And I'm not sure we'd stay here again, but overall this was a fine place to go. The problem is that you have to drive over to Big Basin and pay the day use fee. The campground itself is laid out kind of wonky. More signage would be very helpful. Unfortunately, our campsite was a mudpit. It would have been nice if the camp maintenence folks could have brought in sand or pine boughs or something to make it less muddy. Also, though they said no alcohol was allowed in the campground, the young adults in the group camp area were partying it up - beer bottles plainly evident. Also, the one-way, semi-private road leading to the campground was reminiscent of the movie Deliverance. o_O Despite all that, we did manager to enjoin ourselves. There's actually a lot to do for kids. Since this area was formerly owned by HP and used as a company retreat, there's a Frisbee golf course, tennis courts, basketball courts, kids play area, and more. We did a nice 2 mile hiking loop through the second-growth redwood trees and we got to see tons of banana slugs and salamanders. And the trail connected to all the Big Basin trails so you could go much farther. Your experience may vary, but in a pinch, this was a good camp site. However, book early and stay at Big Basin if you can.”

“Best experience of our entire trip. We went to Universal studios and come back through San Fransisco and stayed here on the way. We will be coming back just to stay here. By the ocean. Lots of trails and absolutely beautiful including amazing location, view and super friendly.”

“I loved it! The campground was updated and there was lots to do but one of the only things I have any complaint about is the pricing. It seems they just keep going up. Also, more of the weekend activities such as the arts and crafts for the kiddos and the movie nights would be awesome. Other than that the kids had fun.”

“Has a lot of activities (playground, pool, jacuzzi, jump pillow...) that are great for children. Gentle hills that children used to enjoy biking around. We did not use any of these during our two night stay, as we came in after they closed (8 p.m.) from our visits to San Francisco and Muir Woods and Beach. Also, I travelled with a 17 y.o., so jacuzzi and pool were the only thing that would interest us. Bathrooms are well maintained and clean. Beautiful trees and well maintained grass. I would have given a five star review, but our campsite was all on a slope, so we slid down in our tent all through the night. While the trees are good for shade they dropped leaves and debris on our tent and car...and a bird had the audacity to poop on my car..LOL Also, wish there were late hours for adults to jacuzzi and pool, so we could unwind after our days activities.”

“We are very happy with this FamCamp. It's conveniently located (walking distance to the School, BX, Class Six, Commissary, Starbucks, Burger King, and Parks). There are lots of trees and the place is clean. Every RV site has a concrete pad. They stay on residents to clean up after pets. It's quiet (with the exception of gate traffic and planes taking off sporadically). I have no complaints. They upped the rate to $22 per night, but still a steal considering it includes water, electric, and free cable. Washers & Dryers available (3 of each). There are also clean community showers & restrooms. They also have a water station to refill 5 gallon jugs of filtered water. Wish we could stay longer than 90 days at a time!”

“This is a very nice clean campground and beautiful scenery with small lake and clean showers and full hook ups and decent WIFI, pet friendly and lots of outdoor games and play ground, something to do for every age. We have enjoyed our stay very much, and will come again and enjoy even more.”

“Beautiful campground. Well maintained by a fantastic owner. Lots of trees and shade. Great pond for swimming and fishing. Very nice playground. We love coming here to relax and love the fact that there isn't a pool or any other crazy amenities. (If I wanted to sit by a pool all day I'd get a pool membership at home!). Nice sized spots. A few great tent sites around the pond. A very clean bath house with washer and dryer. Lots of events to participate in if you so desire!”

“This campround is one of a kind, at 7000 ft this was one hell a hike. I I started my one-night backpacking trip at the Chorro grande trailhead down off the 33, I ascended through typical chaparrel that turns into switchbacks up the steep mountain. It eventually turns to a conifirous forest and ends on the paved Reyes peak campround. The campground has amazing views that span the Ventura coast and back towards the Cuyama Badlands.”

“35$ a night typical camping rates. Close to nearly private beaches. We got here late, around 1:30 on a Saturday and there was still around 10 spots to choose from. There's clean flushing toilets and hot showers for 50 cents for 2 minutes. So far so good. There's a ton of dumpsters close by so for us, that was a plus. No bugs or scary wildlife to worry about. The neighbors were friendly and all felt safe. Overall, I really liked this campground. Mostly it was because of how clean the bathrooms were. They get a daily cleaning at around 6am and smell like bleach. Only thing that was a negative was there was no water spickets to get washing water for dishes. Otherwise a very cool place to camp.”

The camping store has a little of everything..get out and enjoy but make sure to pick up your dogs poop and take your trash. No one wants to pick it up for you. :)”

“I cannot effectively put into words how truly amazing this place is. In one seemingly-too-short summer it became my second home, they became my second family. Camp Shohola is a positive, inclusive and purely joyful place to be.”

“We were at pleasant creek campground in oglesby it started out good in the RV section we met a couple from Rockford and thought it was going to be a good weekend until a hord of tent migrants moved into the to RV designated spots next to us later that evening after hours they snuck in more of their band of hooligans with some nut job dragging around a kayak until 1 am I DIDN'T SLEEP A WINK promptly in the morning I closed up the coachmen Mirada and rolled out I blamed the campground office because they allowed it they gave me a full refund we wound up at Deer Creek in Sheridan where Candy hooked us up with a great RV spot with the Queit we were looking for Thank you God and Candy”

“Only been there one time and one time convinced me...I love it! Stayed for about 3 days during the bluegrass festival in June. Great friendly environs, fun for the whole family. Plenty of places to camp or RV. They even have some fishing spots for those interested. Would love to go back some time!”

“If you haven't been here you're camping in all the wrong places. They treat you like family and keep the sights beautiful. Great people, great place, great cabins, great service and everything you could ever want out of a campground. We are regulars and will continue to be.”

“This is an awesome little campground/trail head on the Rampart Range Motorized Recreation area. It's a bit of a slog up a windy corrugated dirt road, but is well worth it. There are five relatively undeveloped sites in this campground, with fire rings, but no picnic tables. The biggest win for tent campers is that there are restrooms very close by. This area is primarily used by OHV users, so expect some noise and dust. The location is convenient to a number of excellent off road trails, and is also close to the Devil's Head lookout trail.”
