“I'm originally from Houston but I have never stayed in an RV park here in Houston I currently live in another city I was glad to be home visiting family and also catching one of the Houston Texans football games at the Reliant Stadium with my family. We were here at the RV Park celebrating the youngest birthday! He had a magnificent time at this park they do have a lot of resident tenants staying there who took up all of the rec-room time doing the activities that were listed as the amenities so we didn't have enough time to enjoy those and seeing as at this time we are staying there it is winter temperature so we did not get to enjoy the swimming pool and jacuzzi although they are heated to 87 degrees in the swimming pool and a heated jacuzzi. We look forward to spending more time there and are making plans to travel back the next time we visit home.”

“Stayed here for the weekend while we attended a country western concert down the road. This was a very nice and quiet campground. Will be back to camp again”

“Local to me but worth the trip. The pond is short enough to hike around with kids. The canoe rentals are always a great time. This is a place you can let the kids off the leash a little bit. Not many tent campers the last few times I went. Mostly people staying in their RVs.”

“Nice place to stay. I would give five stars if the bathroom was heated and if they had septic.”

“Camped there last night...they literally just opened the campsite yesterday. Trail is hard to get to. Need a 4x4 or Jeep. Large rocks on the trail in addition to two parts of a rather large tree that fell on the trail. We had to do work to get by...you get the point now on what I am saying. Once we got there the place did not disappoint. Would have given a 5 except for the pesky nats...there were a lot. No problem with wind. It actually died down at night, and picked up in the morning. Still not bad. Plenty of space, shared the campground with all the PCT'rs making their trek. Will definitely head back.”

“A beautiful, quiet, peaceful location. No loud parties or rude neighbors. The folks who manage the place are wonderful, and went way out of their way to make me feel welcome and help me out with anything that came up—they lend the place a great vibe. I stayed during the winter months, which could have been uncomfortable, but their common-use facilities are clean and inviting, and it's just a quick walk to the main office building where the bathrooms, laundry, game room, and other facilities are located. Will definitely stop through again next time I'm in the area!”

“Beautiful and quite place to get away from Home very clean, staff were so nice from beginning to end, my family and 2 other families couldn't have picked a better place to camp and get away from our normal routine. camp sites were very spacious compare to other campgrounds I've been to. Campground owners came to greet us and see if everything was fine. Will definitely recommend this place 100%. thank you and can't wait to go back.”

“We didn’t camp here since you have to reserve it like a year in advance. We did, however take a hike down and hang out in the cove and it was such a unique spot and perfect view of the bridge. Totally worth the hike. Also, the beach is made of the coolest little pebble sand, we may have taken some home ????”

“Best campground we have stayed at by far. The owner and employees go out of there way to accommodate. Very clean and quiet campground.. I would recommend this campground to everyone it’s definitely a five star. Beautiful cabins, and kayaking on the Brandywine to the huge pool. Can’t forget the Saturday night ice cream social. Thanks again.”

“I gave 4 stars because of the quiet and peaceful atmosphere! The last star is not lit because of the lack of amenities! This is suppose to be a place where families come and enjoy their stay but the playground is not up to date, the basket court is not up to date so what can the children do here... absolutely nothing. They have plenty enough space for a pool, small skateboard park..something besides nothing!! But overall its quiet!!”

“Camping experience in the middle of the city! Fires not allowed at this time because everything is so dry. A nice little Campground with flush toilets and showers and pretty nice hiking. Lots of coyotes singing at night, that's a plus for me. Can hear the freeway 24 hours, that's a minus.”

“My Mom's boyfriend John J. Wood, the head of the local Pagan MC was shot three times which resulted in his death by a member of the Phantom MC, a club from Maryland, in 1979 at a Bluegrass festival here at Camp Whippoorwill . I don't think all these houses were there or there there probably was an open area in the woods here to have the festival, landscapes change. If you are interested in reading the article about John's death Google 'John J. Wood Washington Post', it will be the first result as of now. I'm posting this to keep his memory alive. John treated my Mom great, I grew up with a framed photo of him in the house, and he could have been my father if he wasn't murdered. He survived be his parents (RIP) and sister. Ride on you dark star.”
