“Beautiful Florida landscape and trails at this event location. I attended the Boggy Bottom Ranch Annual Foster Family Picnic as a volunteer and was awed by the beauty of the trees and trails. Great pavilion with large open kitchen and ample seating for large events. With games, playground, a mining center, snowcones, and winding trails there is something for everyone. Lipton’s recently closed their restaurants as the owners have retired, so I’m not really sure of the ranch’s future. :(”

“Great hot showers for campers, beautiful little beach you can swim in, fish come right up and nibble. Place to fish and kayak right in the front, trails behind the camp sites are nice. Very well kept and good rules for safe camping.”

“Lake Shore never disappointing. This is one of the very few group sites in Florida that has swimming, accommodates pets, and you don't share the restroom with anyone else. Camp hosts are always friendly (and vary from year to year.) The site gets reserved fairly quickly so plan well in advance. The smoker/grill/bbq on site is well built and we've smoked a LOT of meat in this thing. There are also standard park grills around the site. Plenty of lantern posts and a very large camp fire ring rounds out the site. Windixie is around 15 minutes away with roughly half an hour to Silver Springs if you needed anything that the local dollar stores (2) can't provide.”

“A delightful place to spend a summer day, sitting on the beach, or fishing, or swimming. One can also hike and camp here. It's a membership organization, and people need to be church members in order to join, although one can also attend as a guest of a member.”

“These people are the nicest, friendliest and most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. This was my first time living and I mean living in a camper. I came in car full to my trailer at 8:30pm it was very dark out. I had no electric basically I had nothing turned on and I knew nothing about what to do. A little girl from the sight beside me came over and said do you need help? I said I guess so, she went and got security and they took over making sure I was all set. From that moment on I felt very welcome and very safe. A absolutely wonderful place to go. I just wish they were year round.”

“I do so apologize...I usually don't make mistakes...however P&J...I experienced a ....Star...Typo of sorts....I have corrected the error..and smashed that ole tired phone that caused the uh...Snafoo...Now without further Adooo... Shall we.... We met the owners upon this meet we had a real good feel about them and the place.. And disappointed we were Not... They put us into a very nice RV... It has war marks so to speak ... Don't we all... The most appealing two things about this place that I will always come back and stay is... Safety ..they are completely fenced in and electric gates with code... Clean...The owners are out and about during the week and all weekend every weekend... Performing ...cleaning the grounds..repairs to anything that renters may need.. The grounds are very neat... Pets...yes they allow them ...as my pics show ole Rover he just a year old or so now...he weighs bout ninety pounds..the owners welcomed him in... They also offer a very new model pontoon boat which is for daily rental ...This is very nice as you can enjoy the largest lake with your family for a very reasonable price.... The piers the have four...yield bass five pounds and up... This place has earned this lengthy but all deserving review.... Bring your family ...feel safe...and have fun here with P&J....”

“Apple's and berries with a rough road. This historical area has to do with the early days of roads to the mountain. The McHaney brothers, James and William built a cabin on Deer Creek in 1876. Later the site of Clark's Ranch. The well-beaten foot path for miners and anglers passed this area in the very early days of mountain exploration. Hiram Clark of Clark's Ranch and 13 Redlands business men incorporated the Bear Valley Redlands toll road company. Clark homesteaded 160 acres in 1892 at the cabin built by the McHaney brothers and stayed for many years. This site is located on the north slope of the Santa Ana Canyon, about 3 miles west of Seven Oaks.”

“Primitive camping in Sam Houston National Forest. Easy access to fishing along West Fork of San Jacinto River just down road. No restrooms or trash cans, except during hunting season when it functions as a Hunter's Camp. Take your trash home and be respectful of other campers. The Lone Star Hiking Trail can be found across Stubblefield Lake Road at the Hiker Trail sign and is marked with white rectangular metal marker on trees. Please pick up your trash and take it with you. Volunteers who pick up litter would rather be doing wood-working projects like building benches, repairing kiosk, and building signs.”

“Westview is where I met my family, being surrounded by all these wonderful people for 10 weeks is truly an experience like no other. It really is a place apart where you can be a kid again and connect with your campers while growing your relationship with God. There is no place that I feel more connected with my faith than at Westview. You can see His work in everything at camp, whether it be through your fellow counselors, the kids that you meet, or His creation. Westview, in my opinion, is the key to your best summer ever.”

“As of 2018 this is the best campsite at Bartle by far. Though Apache in Lone Star this is close to the pool and Osage River Trading Company, Sycamore is only 60 feet from both. It was the only camp site that had the platforms for the new tents put in without removing any trees so it still have lots of shade. Our troop wants to continue going to this campsite for the foreseeable future.”
