It’s special and truly something different. Never once did we goto a church for the first time and get asked to go out to eat/hangout after service, but we did at AFC. Never once have we went to a church and shortly after went out to eat with the pastors family and other church members, but we did at AFC. It’s truly a family at the church. In such a short time have grown very special friendships. We have brought God into our lives more than we have have and it’s all thanks to this church and Pastor Chris. “Wow! what a warm and welcoming church. I was impressed with the sermon. The reverend was great and spoke with relevance to today's world and added a spate of humor. There were many families with young children and I was surprised at the number of kids in Sunday school. When they finished their lessons they joined the congregation for the communion. Very nice experience for me. I highly recommend at least one visit.”

“When I first walked in the church, I went to the bathroom, which was really nice. I went to the 10 am service and the worship team was amazing. The sermon was good as well. Bishop preached on the fight. The fight starts at home. You come to church to learn how to fight but you fight at home. Just in case anybody is wondering who you are fighting, its satan himself. Satan can't destroy the church but he can attack families to tear the church apart. Worth going back again.”

“Love coming to the Sunday evening service called the Stirring. Music is wonderful. Preacher Eli does an outstanding job with the message. I've been coming for years. Very casual and laid back. They offer free coffee, hot tea and iced tea. You can even take your drinks into the sanctuary. There is stadium seating, cushy seats, cup holders and big screens so you don't miss a thing. Love this church.”

“Glendale Church of the Brethren is a wonderful neighborhood church. Their Service on Sunday's at 10:45 a.m. is diverse and open to every ethnicity. It is a Church of the Brethren based traditional Christian service in English, uplifting and positive and what I love is that the pastor will read scripture, but then show you how it applies to today's world. I've learned service, and how to be kinder, loving and more "present". You are greeted warmly and if you get there by 9:30, you are welcomed and fed an amazing home cooked breakfast with hot coffee, waffles, bacon, etc. and then after church there is another meal. Lots of Fellowship and warmth and FOOD.”

“I’ve attended many different churches during my 50 years of life. The first time I attended at Heritage it was still in back of the cabinet shop. I had already asked Jesus to come into my heart years before but, the night before attending Heritage I was watching a late, late church service on T.V. at the end of the service they did The Sinners Prayer and I repeated it wanting to renew my relationship with Our Father ! A message came to me so clearly afterwards telling me to find a Home Church and worship with fellow Christians again! I told my husband that I was going to Church in the morning, he shocked me by asking if he could go to! I told him of course he could! He was the one who suggested Heritage because our friend Charlie went there, I was just going to go to Garywood. As soon as we walked into Heritage I felt like I had come home!!! The people were so friendly and filled with The Spirit of The Lord . The music is one of my favorite parts! But Brother Mark’s sermon blew me away, I was really home. After a couple of years we moved to Gulf Shores, but Heritage still remained in my heart! I was one of the first to be baptized in the new church that my husband and several of our friends helped build! I’m back now and will be returning home very soon! Also, anyone who has never had a relationship with God? This is the church for you! They are wonderful with new born again Christians! Everyone is treated as family, no matter what your story is, and many churches could learn from their example!”
