“This is the only place we go for fish fry Fridays! Good prices and yummy food! Also, the fireman always respond to fires, accidents, etc very quickly. The volunteers are very dedicated to keeping their department, equipment, engines, pumps and trucks clean and in tip-top working order so that the community can feel safe. When they come around each street on their PA system selling hoagies to raise funds, we always make sure we buy some - and they're always yummy! They rent out the hall for parties as well as hold BINGO once a week. What makes me sad is that so many volunteer fire departments are in desperate need of new members and not many people are stepping up. Not only does this hurt the departments, but it negatively effects our communities. Fires can't be controlled properly without enough people to fight them ... Car wrecks and other accidents won't be handled quickly and easily without enough people to help out ... Ambulance services suffer without fire departments to back them up when needed. I hope this trend doesn't get worse.”

“So I was riding my electric bike (I'm visually impaired due to a brain tumor) on the way to guffey canyon to pick up any trash and enjoy the beauty, the battery on the bike failed and caught fire. A friendly neighbor happened by and helped me put dirt on the fire. The response of the volunteers was rather prompt and the EMS people were top notch. She even asked if I needed a blood glucose check as I'm type 1 Diabetic! All in all fantastic help from dedicated people. A+ and thank you!”

The Old Station that was REPLACED was turning into an old Relic & was STARTING to Fall Apart, ACCORDING to some of the VOLUNTEERS that Manned the Fire Trucks & Pumpers inside the Station. My Wife & I had attended Several Different Functions in the OLD BUILDING & We both thought that it was HOLDING UP OK, but a NEW STATION would be a WELCOMED SIGHT & Would be much APPRECIATED by everyone in the AREA. Tho A NEW "MIDDLE ROAD VFD STATION 174" would be a BETTER & MORE of a SAFER COMMODITY for ALL Concerned.”
