I grew upon the side of town this little, country store is located. Far, rural east Durham toward Falls Lake is where everybody gets gas, cigarettes, sodas, beer, bread, chips, snacks, their morning coffee, fishing tackle, that one ingredient like baking soda or eggs you ran out of and get, or a cool drink when riding your bike. Sells diesel and kerosene, propane exchange, air pump, free parking and wheelchair accessible. “Such a wonderful campground! My husband and I came for a weekend to get away from the craziness and the hustle and bustle and Poplar Point was too perfect. The sites are really well-spaced out and everything is so clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the trails and lake access are so convenient and clean too! If you are unable to reserve a site ahead of time and have to grab a FF (first come first serve) site like we did, be sure to get there before 5 on Friday to make sure there are sites available because they fill up FAST and there’s a line to check-in. All in all, such a great and beautiful place!!”

They also checked my transmission fluid for me which needed to be changed. I bought a new air filter before coming and they were kind enough to replace it too. I really enjoyed the people.
