“I had to reschedule my original appointment the day prior and Tonia graciously managed to squeeze me in the following week before I had to go out of town. The braiding shop is in an office park in Lanham, not what one expects compared to other shops, but it’s really nice and quiet inside. I arrived at 3:38pm for medium knotless braids and she immediately started working on my hair. The shop wasn’t crowded, 2 other braiders and their clients. Tonia worked so fast; braids finished, flyaways snipped and my ends dipped; that I was walking out of the salon at 7:08. There are so many horror stories with braiders and hair salons but I’m so glad I took a chance going to Annagrace for the first time…reasonable prices, personable and efficient service. First time doing knotless braids and I love how clean and simple they are. I wasn’t sure how much hair would be needed, so had a lot left over…enough for the next time.”

“I always go to Pho 54 and notice this place with affordable men’s haircuts of $15 and decided to give this place a shot. I used to go to a place nearby my work and it was at least $35-$40. It was definitely getting to a point that it was too expensive for me so I gave this place a try as I had nothing to lose and could always wear a hat if anything. I met Mai and she is very kind and understanding on what kind of haircut you want. It also helps that I’m Vietnamese as well but she also speaks and understands English! I always get a low or mid fade with 1” on the sides and either leave the top or 5” on top as well depending the growth. She does fades and line ups for my regular cuts as those are my go to. She is caring and and makes the effort to make sure you’re getting the proper cut you asked for. My new go to place as it is an awesome price, close to my place and great person to go to! Their days and hours are pretty convenient as well. I usually call ahead to make sure I have an appointment with Mai as well.”

“Steve is amazing, and was a true blessing to myself and my son. Due circumstances from the pandemic and family issues our stylist of over 10 years sold her business to care for her family. We were left to find someone that could even come close to filling her shoes. I have very naturally curly hair that does not tolerate much of anything ever since I had a large tumor found on my right ovary requiring urgent removal. I lost my hair and new hair did not start to grow for a good bit of time. Eventually it did, (took 3 years) but only with medical and stylist expertise did that happen, and to date I never put a brush out comb through my hair (I only use my fingers to “comb/remove” knots etc) and my son who had a traumatic experience at age 5 with a stylist when his dad took him for a haircut went almost two years refusing to let anyone cut or trim his hair. Finally he asked me to take him to my girl (no longer working) and after that he would only let her cut his hair- no one else. Anyway, we were referred to Studio 151 but when I called the stylist had moved and was no longer there. I took a chance and booked out appointments with Steve. He not only did a wonderful job of styling our hair (& coloring & highlighting mine) that when we got into the car to go home my son looked over at me and said “I like him a lot. I’m keeping him”… I laughed to myself knowing that this kid went years without a haircut- not caring if kids at school and baseball made fun of him because his hair was so long,… making it clear from then on, that the trauma was going to cause him distress with something like just getting a hair cut, and it did, until we found Steve. He changed that for my son and as a mom there is no way I could ever thank him enough. I have no idea what they talked about, but I know I leave there every time with a smiling , happy son who bugs me to schedule his hair cut every few weeks now! And THAT is truly an amazing thing!! Steve does GREAT work with hair, but even better, he understands people, and he has a way of educating, comforting and just listening that offer something i knew my son needed, but never imagined would come from him getting a hair cut! (and talking to Steve). We will never go anywhere else as long as Steve is doing hair! What a blessing finding Studio 151 was for us! We LOVE the hair cuts & color we get, and for a much appreciated bonus we get to spend some time with a person as amazing as Steve! It’s a win-win for us. We were looking for great hair cuts and hair color and we got that, and so much more! we now have a new friend. A person who may not realize it, but who I believe does Gods work!
