“I see so many unhinged reviews on people being from out of state and how unfair a ticket is. Yes, it does seem a lot of us are from out of state, but we’re the ones speeding and/or violating traffic laws! So bite your lip and pay it! The lady on the phone was helpful and kind, and the officer wasn’t extraordinarily mean or anything. Stop looking for things to complain about and rip apart a county because it doesn’t have industry and sky scrapers. It is also very very easy to speed on these roads considering it’s on a plain with scenery all around.”

“I volunteered at a cat spay & neuter clinic. Amy runs the Estill County Animal Control and she is so hard working. She had her children there working with all of us and everyone worked so well together. There was a team of amazing women from Woodstock Animal Foundation near Louisville - the vet and vet techs - volunteers. Our Estill County Judge D Watson came to visit and brought us all lunch (- I was told he does this every time there is a clinic). He spent time speaking to each volunteer, then he personally thanked each volunteer and quietly praised Amy for the good job she is doing. I was glad that Estill County had a representative who was actually involved in the clinic on a personal basis. He spoke about our need for a new building - he was correct by the way because the Estill County Animal Control building is not in great shape, it's very rustic. I really enjoyed the day, wished I could have done more and I know I'm going back there to volunteer again. “I filled out an online form to complain about Central Hudson Gas and Electric Co., who’s billing practices are outright thievery! I received an an email response from the Public Service Commission right away acknowledging my problem with Central Hudson overcharging us for our electric. Central Hudson hadn’t done a meter reading in four months and I needed the final bill because we had sold the property. Central Hudson tried to convince me a meter reading had been done on a Sunday! Yea, right ! I tried several times to contact Central Hudson about the the fact that my final bill was based on estimates and no final meter reading had been done and was always promised action but nothing was ever resolved. After contacting the Public Service Commission, Central Hudson contacted me directly and resolved and refunded our $750.00 overcharge. So yes, the Commission stood by us! Reach out to them if you think your utility company is ripping you off!”
