“This Waffle House is a lot like pretty much every Waffle House I've been to so far. It looks like a small diner with an open kitchen. Parking is just along the front and one side of the diner. In a pinch, you could park at the shopping center next door too. However, given the restaurant's small capacity, I doubt parking would ever be an issue. Overall, this Waffle House was relatively clean, even if not the cleanest. (Bits of food tend to fall on the floor and they can't always clean it up right away.) My server that evening was very nice and very efficient. The Waffle House menu, like all other Waffle House menus, was compact but offered many choices. I went with my favorites, hash browns "all the way" and a classic waffle, and they made those pretty much according to spec. Thumbs Up!”

They normally do a meal deal where you get a taco and a new item with a drink for only 5 dollars, and I appreciate that! “Although it has been a few years since I patronized the Claymont Steak Shop, I remember it as a busy but accommodating restaurant staffed by friendly, knowledgeable folks who's goal is to make you the perfect sandwich. If you want to sit down in a plain, diner/restaurant, sandwich shop with a nice, fresh (more on that in a bit), and well prepared food; give Claymont Steak Shop a chance. With hundreds of different foods, from starters, soups and salads through main meal to dessert; their literally is something for everyone. If you want to pick up your meal, make sure to call or order online at least 30 minutes to one hour in advance. Weekend afternoons and nights are busy. Regarding ordering online; these folks have developed a nice "order online" drop down menu. Their menu is available online for download and prior perusal. Obviously, as the name clearly stated, they are best known for their steak sandwiches and cheesesteaks. None of those chopped, processed, flash frozen sheets of "meat paper" served at so many shops. Each day they prepare, by slicing, fresh, Grade A beef. It is sliced thin and is never tough or chewy. Simply the best Steak Sandwich in Delaware and now, not only in Claymont but also in Wilmington and Newark!”
