On October 27, 2018, I left a heart-shaped quartz necklace charm on a rusty dip can on the Corpsmen bench from my German mother, who was an au pair in the States during the '70s, and her parents gave it to her as a reminder of their love, to bring her luck, and protect her. The last time I was in Niederkrüchten, Germany, she gave it to me as a parting present with the intent that it would return to America. I hope the symbolism behind this beautiful rock also touches the hearts of Marines and sailors alike, whether they are alive or dead. ♡ This hike was challenging yet also the most-fulfilling hike I've ever done on a MCB, and upon first sight of the crosses and flags, an aura hits you. It's a very peaceful place.”

“My wife and I really enjoyed visiting Ellwood Manor. The tour was free. As soon as we opened the door, we were greeted by a friendly guide. He gave the two of us a tour. It was great just the three of us. We were able to talk to the guide and ask questions. The guide was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the history of the manor and the stories he told, including the surrounding battles. Photography is allowed, so we were able to get great pictures. The manor was nice considering I was there mainly to see where Stonewall Jackson's arm was buried. After the tour, my wife and I started walking around the grounds. We went through the hedges and walked to the marker for Jackson's arm. Google Maps got us to the parking area of Ellwood Manor.”

“This running, biking, dog and people walking trail is in Bel Air along the Maryland and Pennsylvania train route; it can be quite busy during the summer months. It is very scenic and quiet. The trail itself has many inclines, making it challenging but not difficult. There are turn off trails that lead to Harford Mall and Johns Hopkins summer home. Also, if you cross the street, once you go through the green arches, the trail continues and you'll end up at Annie's Playground. Parking is free and all pets are leashed.”

“They had this awesome trolley from 1920. This is a wonderful museum and it's great that you'll learn a lot of history. It's definitely a great place for kids to learn. This is one of the most unique railway museums I've went in. The conductors and and volunteers were informative and really nice and friendly.”

“Very cool place! I believe it costs about $10 to get in. It's all in really nice condition. If you're looking to go inside a lighthouse, this is the place to go. It is really tight on the stairs going up to the light and when your in the light, but it's got a nice view!”
