“I have not visited since I was probably 5-6 years old but it was still just as I remembered!! I like the fact it’s a smaller museum because it’s not crowded with people and everything is very hands-on. Was a good time for this kid at heart :’)”

“This museum shows the sustainability within the fashion industry. There is a section for decorating a pair of white shirts, which costs 15 EUR. Because this activity does not include dyeing, it might be a bit surprising but it is really interesting to designing your own shirts.”

“What a little jewel this town is, it is as if you are suddenly taken back 100 years. We were hosted by a local artist, so we took a walking tour of the town. The town is situated as such, that a local party was taking place, and our guide walked us into the home where a family was enjoying Mexican Music, foods, and a spectacular view of Mexico at sunset. Why there are many significant aspects of this town to consider, one of the most important to me was that San Ygnacio was one of the last places to view Spanish-Mexican Vernacular Ranch Architecture. Some of these buildings have been there since 1830, that is 15 years earlier than when the state of Texas became a state of the United States.”

Also, fantastic exhibits about culture of Gillespie/Benld area from music to sports to labor history. An essential stop on any visit to this area of IL!”

“Me and my co worker Morris walked to the Florida National Guard to ask them if they would attend a surprise birthday party for one of our regular guests who turned 99 years old. Bill Manley was super supportive by sending an email out to the troops and showing up the very next day. It was a last minute idea and we appreciate you making it happen. Thank you for all you do!”

“Very cute little place. We stopped in on our way from Davis OK to Waco TX so the kids could stretch their legs. It was perfect for them. The 12 year old got bored after 30 mins but the 3 and 8 year old didn't want to leave. It's all open but small enough you can sit and relax and they can play within eyes view. Perfect stop! And only $5/person! Score!”

“What a great addition to the other museums in the area that interpret the local area. I learned so much about some of the local boat makers and was able to see some of their work. They have some benches around the small museum, however, I it would be more helpful to have them at the stations where they have videos. As someone with limited mobility and walk with a walker, it was a challenge to make it around the museum.”

“I ABSOLUTELY Loved it!!! If you enjoy rocks and crystals and petrified wood, you must go. I am little obsessed with my crystals and wish I had made time to go sooner... All of the specimens here were amazing. The info that goes along with them..fascinating. At first I felt a little guilty about going alone, but nobody I know has my deep fascination and I know it would have been frustrating had I needed to rush because of bored friends/family. If you have youngsters that enjoy rocks, take them. It is very family friendly with special things to do to keep them interested and learning. The grounds are beautiful. Take a picnic on a lovely spring day!!! I left knowing so much more than I did before and I got to see the biggest thunder egg ever!!! The gift shop was stocked with specimens, games, jewelry and other cool things that you may be able to order online, but why when you can get them right there!”

“What a great museum! We took our kids, 6 & 4 years old the other day. Pay attention to the hours because we went on Tues and that's the only day they're closed. But when we went back we had a nice time! There were a lot of interactive displays to keep the kids entertained! Their favorite was looking out the periscope and swinging through the doorway! I loved learning about the dolphins and sea lions too! We will definitely be returning!”
