“It is a good place with nice staff who cares about you. Good learning movies. Last time it was very cold inside, probably broken heat but still we like it a lot. As well as the museum. Kids any age enjoy the museum and the planetarium.”

Arizona Capitol Museum

Address: 1700 W. Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85007, USA

Museum

“We've visited a number of state houses and this was a good one to see the original building and how it has expanded over time. Great history from the time Arizona was a territory, how the US gave them to become a state if they joined with New Mexico as one state, but they opposed that offer and a few years later became a state on their own. We did get to see the current Senate chamber, but not the House of Representatives which is undergoing some renovations. They have a very extensive active miniature train display, with trains running and volunteers working on it.”

Orange County Historical Museum

Address: 201 N Churton St, Hillsborough, NC 27278, USA

Museum

“Hillsborough is a nice little town not far from Chapel Hill. Lot of history here. Unfortunately there's not much in terms of specialty shops, and its mostly restaurants, with a few that were closed, for what seemed like quite some time. Otherwise the downtown area is small, but clean, with a lot of greenary mixed in which is great on hot days, and there are nice older southern homes, each unique in their own way, making for pleasant walk on the side streets.”

“Found this on a museum list of Pittsburgh, boy what a find!!!! Amazing place that brought back so many great memories!!! The two hour pass went by so quick, but was also the perfect amount of time! I think any longer and the sensory overload would have hit me. Can wait to return to the area and come back to this place”

Chess museum

Address: Max Euweplein 28HS, 1017 MB Amsterdam, Netherlands

Museum

“This back office museum has been my favorite of my entire trip to Amsterdam! English proficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. Sadly, no tours. However, I spent more than 2hr in this tiny museum. The love and knowledge of all the members of this chess organization shine through. On floor 30A wall right in, they can even be talked into playing a few games if pressed.”

Camlann Medieval Village

Address: 10320 Kelly Rd NE, Carnation, WA 98014, USA

Museum

“Visit was for a regular weekend village on a summer Sunday and it was really quiet and a few villagers present. The visit was very short since not a lot was happening. The entrance fee is $10 per person (including children) and cash only. I didn’t expect to pay so much since online reads “Admission $5.00 except for festivals” and was presented to us as a donation so be ready to pay. It seems like best time to visit is during a festival to really make it worth the trip and your money. We visited the restaurant and the beer was way better than the food so maybe just stick to beverages unless you just want the experience of eating soup, a few slices fruit & cheese and bread. We did try two desserts as well and we weren't entirely full. It was an interesting experience and probably won’t visit again, seems like a one time thing. I visited because of TikTok or else would have never known about it before, so maybe a festival is a better experience here.”

Bixby Historical Museum

Address: 24 E McKennon Ave, Bixby, OK 74008, USA

The Pruyn House team was amazing to work with and the grounds are beautifully maintained especially the garden! I HIGHLY recommend this location for your next session! Check out B. Photogenic Photography for more photos of the Pruyn House!”

Tulare County Museum

Address: 27000 S Mooney Blvd, Visalia, CA 93277, USA

Museum

“Grew up with the TC Museum and Mooneys Grove Park. Always a Visalia treasure. Lots to see and explore as they're always rotating exhibits and adding more unique items from tulare county. The Village holds many fond memories for me as a kid especially when our field trips there we'd get a guided tour and go through certain spots that are now closed to the public. They're always in need of volunteers if anyone is interested and they accept donations instead of charging an entrance fee.”

Idaho Military History Museum

Address: 4692 W Harvard St, Boise, ID 83705, USA

“Absolutely loved this museum! Great place to visit for everyone! Packed full of artifacts from different periods of this countries wars! Especially cool that a lot of the artifacts are centered around Idaho and the men and women who served our nation who hailed from Idaho. Especially loved the tanks and planes they have for viewing. I highly recommend this place to everyone and is great if you're on a budget and want something to do cause it's completely free to check out, so get on down and check it out!”

Hours are limited, but if you can make a trip here it is definitely worth it to learn more about the history of Florissant and the Pikes Peak region.”

Rippa Villa

“Very interesting, well worth a visit. The guide Kristi had so much knowledge and interest in the the house and battle of Franklin that is was contagious. The rooms are being renovated and I cannot wait to go back one day to see it finished.”

Los Angeles Maritime Museum

Address: 600 E 5th St Berth 84, San Pedro, CA 90731, USA

“I can't believe a museum of this caliber is just a suggested donation. I was blown away by the exhibit on the Terminal Islanders. It was so well done and imactful for such a small space. The sections on canning, the history of the building, and the kids area were also impressive. I would definitely go back as it seems they are continuing to make updates to exhibits”

Lewis & Clark Boat House and Museum

Address: 1050 S Riverside Dr, St Charles, MO 63301, USA

“Remarkable. So much to see. Plan a few hours. Description of a pc of history that should not ever be forgotten. We didn't take care of the already settled Native Americans. But the white man wouldn't have survived without their help. Lots to learn. Great gifts to buy”

Heritage Park Village

Address: 102 S Lowder St, Macclenny, FL 32063, USA

Park Museum

“This is a really cool place with a number of historic buildings from different places around Florida that were moved to this spot. It is well maintained and open to the public, plus it has special events on certain dates. My favorite part was reading the stories on the walls of people who lived many years ago, going through hard times and struggles but always coming out shining bright and making an amazing impact on the world! Definitely check this place out, it is like a peaceful time capsule to enjoy!”

“The museum is great had lots of photos of the original badger ordinance plant from world war I until it closed in the late 80s and it had a lot of the pre-war pictures of the females working there in the munitions plant my parents actually worked here in the seventies and as a child I stayed across in the village Park and this one baby status there and then to bring a bus and take us over to the building and we have lunch with her parents and then they take us back over the daycare. There's a lot of great history here and pictures of plat maps memorabilia badges uniforms and the different types of ammunition the gentleman that's kind of overseas the museum is very knowledgeable and likes talking to you about the history. Plymouth Historical Museum

Address: 155 S Main St, Plymouth, MI 48170, USA

Museum

“Beautiful, well maintained surprise in Plymouth. It's big enough to cover many areas of interest but small enough to take in everything in an hour or two. The locomotive is such a wonderful addition. The changing focus ( the 70's were featured when we went) keeps the museum always intriguing. Please do you & your family a huge favor and visit this incredible gem on Main Street in Plymouth.”

Arkell Museum

Address: 2 Erie Blvd, Canajoharie, NY 13317, USA

Museum

“Neat little museum in Canajoharie. Prominently featured are paintings by Winslow Homer. A copy of Gilbert Stuart's George Washington is also in the museum. Several works depicting the Mohawk Valley region are are also presented. The museum also does a nice job with the history of the Beech-Nut factory. Featured are ads displayed from the 1920's and 1930's. Along, with the history of Beech-Nut the story of the Arkell family is provided. Also, photographs and stories about working in the factory. The museum does a good job presenting information for each painting as well. Rotating galleries are also a part of the museum. The exhibit on "granges" in New York State was interesting. Museum is fairly priced and staff is helpful.”
