“Great hike. North entrance of the trail was closed and roped off. Hiking from the playground got me on to the trails and I was able to walk the whole trail system. Somewhat muddy but not terrible. Great tree canopy to walk under through most of the trails. Many awesome views. Quiet park.”

“One of our go-to spots! The beach is beautiful, not super sandy but great to walk along. There are a few trails and a boardwalk as well. It's never been incredibly busy and we've visited in the spring, summer and fall. A great spot to take your dog as well!”

“We're military, so we love to visit these time capsules and get a first-hand feel of history. I was delighted to happen upon a guided tour by a reenactor who was knowledgeable about this fort as well as the others lining this river and much much more. I also found a geocach if you're interested. There were ticks, but I didn't run into any other bug issues. The tour guide said to watch for snakes. No beach access.”

“Nice camp ground and location between Ohiopyle and confluence, nice beach area and an area to put in your boat if you have omen. Showers have hot water! Just a little too hot sometimes.”

“Great small park very clean and quiet! Brought my dog for a quick walk…of course dogs need to be leashed. Kids love the basketball and volleyball court.”

“Beautiful, challenging and easy to follow. You can use this trail to reach Charleston Peak as well, if you have it in you, you can do both. Reaching the ridgeline was a great experience, and then up to the peak was an exciting trek up.”

“This is a timeless park that has truly evolved in the past 50 years since I have been coming here. It has a fun playground for you and your family to enjoy together. Plenty of restrooms and parking spaces to accommodate everyone who visits the park. Picnic tables and barbecue grills for your outside activities. Basketball courts for you and your family to enjoy. Also has a fun Dog Park section for both small and large breeds to enjoy together with other people of the dog community.”

“Jonathan is very knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all the questions I had about my plants and the care they needed. He has a good selection of plants that grow well in our central Florida area. I recommend him to all my neighbors and friends that need some plants”

“I love to take my dog walking on these trails. Also did a night hike out here once to watch a meteor shower away from light pollution and it was a great view”

“Lights need to be fixed... walking path could use a resurfacing, especially for senior citizens that need a smooth even surface to avoid falls if they lose their balance due to holes, cracks, loose gravel/rocks, and lack of a uniform predictable surface. Grass/weeds need to be cut for greater mosquito control and other problematic insects.”

“I love this park. The basketball court is getting pretty run down and it seems the bathrooms are permanently closed at least they haven't been unlocked for over a year. However the park is quite cozy and fun. There's even horse shoe pits so ya, it's my favorite park so give it a try.”

“Great place for a family gathering or just plain BBQ outside by the river. Fishing is good but you need to go up river...kayak friendly.”

“Its a cute pocket park with limited seating and shade. It's convenient for the area. Not really a park to have parties. It does have a drinking fountain but no restrooms.”

“The campground was very clean and the grounds keeper and store clerk was awesome. This was our first time out in our new to us RV to try things out. Charlie was so full of knowledge and very helpful. If I only 1 issue it was the campers across the way playing music way to loud, but remember I was young once too. Still should have been more respectful to others”

“Ez parking. Very easy trail. Almost entirely under tree canopy. Some disc golfers along the trail too. Trail is mostly rock bedding. It was nice to arrive at Pfeiffer College and use the restroom at their gym. Hike is out and back. I didn't see any wild animals.”

“What a nice place! Very well designed and huge. I will say that you won't be able to keep an eye on your kid, if you sit in 1 spot. This playground is really big. The area was clean and appeared to have a long walking trail.”
Address: 4140 Cortez Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34607, USA
“Definitely loved it. We've viewed it from the kayak before, but hadn't seen the park itself. It's a nice small park with shelters as well as some great views of the Gulf, and a bit of historic fun facts posted.”

“Grew up here!! This playground didn't exist. Everyone enjoyed it. I wish kids would pick up after themselves a little more in the area. Its such a beautiful spot. Hopefully it doesn't turn into the streets of BC or DT St. Paul. SMH. Keep up the good work L.C. its still a beautiful city!!”

“If you have dogs that love car rides and/or walking around and sniffing things, this little bit of green space is a great place to go. When I was a kid, there would have been 100 kids all playing their own games in a space like this. I.e. kickball, wiffle-ball, football, etc. Today's kids are different. If you have a little boy that has too much energy, take him there and kick a ball and make him chase it. Let him fall asleep in the car on the way back home. LOL”
