“Lovely, quiet spot my sister and I frequent. Well maintained, and if you're lucky, in the evening, there sometimes is a whimsical old man playing the violin in his backyard that faces the bridge. Not many people know about the park because its quite hidden and can be difficult to find.”

“This is a semi-primitive campsite. There is plenty of room for lots of campers so it is good for big groups. There were fours of us with an RV, tent, and tent-trailer and we left most of the site empty. The toilet on the site is a vault-toilet which, for some odd reason, has two toilets in each room with no dividers. There is no water at the site, so bring your own. The fire pits and barbeques were taped off and could not be used but this may be seasonal because of fire danger. Google Maps does not give good directions for the site and the road is easily bypassed as the campground sign is not at the turn-off. The road is dirt and bumpy but is passable by most passenger vehicles with average ground clearance. The site is only a few minutes from downtown Big Bear but feels very remote since there are not other sites or homes nearby. Cell service at the site is surprisingly good; we had no trouble streaming video at the site and no one had any dropped calls. In summary, this good sized spot is a great place to "rough it" without worrying about bothering others with your noise while still being close enough to town to get a Starbucks in the morning and watch some Netflix before turning in for the night.”

“Nice park with two playground areas and swing-sets, a soccer field with goals, a full court and a half-court basketball court, two tennis courts, all of them with great surfaces, and a large shelter with clean restrooms and a cold drinking fountain with good-tasting water. The kids love it here.”

“What a beautiful place to get away for the day and be immersed in nature. The trails are nice and wide, and relatively flat so most could enjoy it without concern for great technicality. Just an easy amble through the woods. The path markers were very clear, and none of the trails were particularly long. This time of your everything is covered in a soft bed of moss. I highly recommend going while it is raining or shortly after. The dense canopy above immerses you in its colour, and song. It was very busy, but you can pace yourself to wait 10 minutes in between each person's start time, that way it feels like you're secluded. Can't believe I've never been! Well worth the drive :)”

“Mount Rubidoux Park has a great beginner level hike for all to enjoy. We parked at Ryan Bonaminio Park and climbed the hill to the start of the trail. The trail is paved, and great for kids. A stroller could also be used, though pushing it up the hill is some spots could be a workout. The weather was cool when we went, but I imagine it would be hot in the summertime, and there is very little shade. The hike didn’t take us very long, maybe an hour and a half to two hours tops, and that’s with little kids, and taking it very easy. There are good views of the surrounding landscape, as the trail wraps around all sides. This activity was a great choice to get the kids out of the house for a short time, and not too intense. There were quite a few people there, some choosing to run the hill as a workout, which would be a good one if you lived nearby. Again, good option that doesn’t require a big-time commitment or a lot of physical ability. Get in a workout, or just get some fresh air, either way it was fun for me and the family.”

“I can't believe how beautiful our yard looks. A. W. Landscapers did such a great job on our landscaping. The lawn looks amazing and the new plants look great. Scott was right, the black mulch really makes the plants in the flowerbeds stand out. Great job.”

“Very nice park. I see why everyone goes there. Awesome place to watch sunrise/sunset. Everyone there very friendly. Squirrels also approach you. I recommend bringing some nuts or something for the Squirrels. I had 1 Squirrel following me and waiting for food but I didn't bring anything, so I felt bad because I came empty handed. Love the atmosphere of this park. 👌”

“Its spacious with a lot of different types of campground areas, you can be out in the open or tucked back into the trees. There is a slide, swings for both older kids and babies and an open grassy area for running around. They also allow you to build campfires at your campsite.”

“The only problem I had was the bathroom had about a 3" or 4" step up and I was in a wheelchair, recovering from my 3rd broken leg. I had to leave the wheelchair at the door and hobble painfully, holding onto mostly the trash can. Not a good experience. But greatly enjoyed the music.”

“Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We lucked out and happened to be there when they were feeding the turtles. The gentleman feeding them let my daughter touch them while transferring them from their enclosures to the feeding area. She already asked if we can go back tomorrow.”

“Ok so we have gone to this place a couple of times we usually go here because of the volleyball courts, they have about 5 or 6 courts in this park with sand and the net you can adjust to go up or down, this place is very clean and like I mention the volleyball courts are amazing I'm originally from New York city and I was never able to find any park like this most parks out there are run down or dirty. Meanwhile here in Florida parks tend to be very clean and very spacious. There are also basketball courts and plenty of space to jig or walk. They also have a kid park with swings and other stuff. I love it and will definitely keep going here”

“Hiked from mile 0 in Ohiopyle to the Ohiopyle shelters, 6.5 miles in 4hrs. Great elevation changes, great views and the trail was marked well. Shelters are well maintained and firewood was plentiful. Day two, hiked to from the shelter to Rt. 653 parking lot, about 6.5hrs over 12.5 miles. That hike begin straight up for 2 miles and ends going straight up at the 653 parking lot. Overall, a great trail and well maintained by the park system.”

“Phenomenal swimming hole and gardens. Tent camping and primitive RV sites with access to everything. Beautiful very large and old cypress trees provide lots of shade and the spring fed pools are a refreshing 68 degrees and are full even during droughts. The gardens are fantastic with lots of flowers and tropical plants along with water features and seating spread around.”
