“Alderleaf opened up many doors for myself, it was a life changing experience but the school is not for everyone, though sometimes i wish it was! Like many situations in life, what you put in is what you get out, and after two years as a student at alderleaf I am ready to take on the next chapter of my life and plunge forward in my studies at Western Washington University. I aspire an environmental career (park ranger), and my time at Alderleaf not only sets me apart from the rest but it drew me closer to our natural world and brought out my naturalist side in extraordinary ways. At this school we learn about permaculture, animal track and sign, ethnobotany, plant ID, forestry, ancestral skills, friction fire and wilderness survival skills to name a few. Alderleaf is a incredibly close-knit community that is very welcoming, but mostly inspiring. If you have a chance, explore their web page, watch some student testimonials and if your inspired, please take the plunge! for me, it was worth every penny and every sacrifice. I plan to always stay connected and be apart of this rich community!”

“If you want fun, here you go. Tractors pulling, trucks and pickups pulling, lawnmowers pulling. Then and then, the combine demolition! Oh my God, how cool is this! Crash till they can't anymore but the judges watch close for safety. Very good. Could do better with announcing, keeping kis off the fence, and the kids trying to park cars. Will be here next year. Hopefully the prices won't go to much more.”

“The dinning area is really nice. Very family friendly. A little on the expensive side but not going to blow your budget. Didn't have many ice cream flavors at the moment but since it's close to summer that might change. Liked the gift shop, had tons of cute items such as: toys for kids, candy tons of candy, funny postcards, and tons of items to remember your trip to Traver. They had some animals: a llama, a goat, 2 donkeys, 2 chickens, a pig, 3 bunnies, 2 quails (I think),a parakeet?, and a PEACOCK 🦚!! The only thing I don't like is that you can't really interact with many of the animals, it's understandable for the safety of the children, but it would be better to get a little closer. Really nice area to spend a couple of hours with your family. I'm Carlos Dominguez, and I approve this message. 👌”

“The park is beautiful, the fishing is decent and depending on who you bring with you the company is excellent! Bathrooms are kept in excellent condition. Be careful of walking around in the brush as there are stickers everywhere. Dogs are allowed in the camps so long as you keep them leashed.”

“Amazing site. It’s is a great history of the battle and the museums are great love the walk through a soldiers experience. The earthworks are a great walk and the recreated trenches are awesome for realization of the battle. It is a must stop for history people and non history people. The plantation and houses show the civilian life as well. And are just as important.”

“Been coming here over 40 years and it is an absolute gem. Great fishing, swimming, wildlife, and just general river exploring. Couple of pavillions, permanent cornhole boards, basketball court, and playground. It's a shame the fire ring has been gone for many years. Was great to stay up late and listen to the old timers.”

“This is the best lake within driving distance from the Tulsa Metro area. Not only the beautiful landscape but the water is much cleaner than that of some of the other Oklahoma lake's. The offer good fishing, swimming, boating and a great team that keeps this place beautiful and awesome even in the dog days of summer. Great job Okmulgee!”

“Oh my God! This place is beautiful!! I live in the Southern California desert so these falls & all the lush green foliage added to my glee. Definitely a gorgeous place to visit! I can't hike but still the view was spectacular from the street level.”

“The park is hidden hideaway in a sense. It's off of the main road and I honestly never even knew it was there even though I have lived in the area for years. But it's beautiful little park with 2 pavilions perfect for gathering, grills, a basketball court and plenty of fresh air and trees. The park is very clean and not crowded so very peaceful.”

“Great place to hike, adventure, or go exploring. Today was my first visit and I will be returning asap. The book exchange is a amazing idea and the first time I have seen one. If you go definitely bring the bug spray and if you bring kids have them dress appropriate to play in water or get wet or muddy. Have fun!”

“I wouldn't normally write a review about a park, but parks are something I like to look up before going to, so I thought I'd give back. This has an accessible playground with sepearate big kid and toddler areas. There are lots of really cool features here, like rock climbing and drums. There is sand, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I've never seen anything in it. There's a full basketball court and lots of grass area also. It's never really dirty and doesn't usually have unhoused people there (I'm there almost weekly). There's often an ice cream truck parked nearby. There are also bathrooms, but I wouldn't call them clean by any standard. It's really a great park though.”

“Great view of Lake Niagara. Toronto sits in the background. The water is almost at your feet. There are steps down. Be careful. The park sits in a neighborhood, minimal parking. Canadian Flag. Must visit. Try to go at night to get the view of Toronto’s skyline lit up.”

“This is a Floyd County treasure. Admittedly, it is somewhat of a hassle to become a member. A member must first get a county dog license. This is done with a form, proof of rabies, and proof of spay/neuter and microchip number for a life license. Since our microchip number was not registering, this took two trips and an additional fee to the chip company, Avid. Then you had to make an appointment with the Parks and Recreation Department at a different facility. At the appointment, you had to have a 30 minute in service on the rules, fill out forms, and pay the fees for each dog. We chose life licenses for both. So the fees were $105. for the first dog for life. It is a little less for each additional dog. Once those hoops were jumped, we have a glorious place to allow our dogs to swim and romp. It is a huge, very secure facility. There are water bowls, a water source, a pond for swimming, poop bags, and receptacles provided. It is an age 13 and over facility. So it is less worrisome to allow dogs off leashes, as small children are not there to make skittish dog owners worry. Our family uses the park several times a week.”

“A picturesque community park with a playground, picnic tables, trash containers and restrooms available. A variety of sports may be played here, including basketball, baseball, softball and soccer. I’ve seen lots of dog walking here, especially in the fence enclosed area used for baseball, of course when nobody’s playing. Otherwise, players will appreciate the considerate use of this space, with owners picking up after their pets!”
