But she continued to help me coordinate with contractors to make improvements to the home, and helped me find quality renters for my downstairs unit. It is so rare to find a genuinely good person like Maria in this world. She is truly a gem in the real estate business, and anyone would be lucky to work with her. “Su-Lan is by far the most hardworking person I have ever worked with, but especially her diligence as a realtor is unmatched. In the hunt for my own home she worked with me for three whole months of late nights and heavy correspondence. I looked at over fifty houses, and placed bids five times. Every single week, I could expect ridiculously quick responses to all of my questions, even if they sometimes went out in the middle of the night, and astounding amount of attention to detail that bears a degree of scrutiny not found elsewhere. She turned me from knowing nothing about houses to what it feels like to be an experienced housebuyer, as if I spontaneously absorbed her many years of watching the housing market and its pitfalls. Su-Lan is relentless when it comes to negotiation; she always looks out for the buyer, whether it means quickly pointing out issues with the house, or if the selling agent appears to be shifty, or if she can pull out a deal that nobody could have possibly imagined. Every single piece of documentation I can trust Su-Lan to have personally looked over. She doesn't rely on assistants, which means all of her paperwork she has touched with her own two hands, and this is truly amazing because this kind of diligence reaps so many benefits. Other agents are likely to miss small things, such as being able to shift the closing date until after a weekend or requesting the seller to pay for hundreds of dollars worth of small payments to negotiating keeping appliances, but not Su-Lan. Finally, Su-Lan is incredibly well connected. There are hundreds of lenders and contractors out there these days that will do nothing less than cheat you out of your money with less than scrupulous methods and dodgy misdirection. Su-Lan knows this environment well, and knows many trustworthy lenders and contractors. I was personally connected with a lender that gave a rate undercutting literally every single rate that could be found online, and the contractors she has provided me with are truly competent in their trade. In many ways, the five stars I put here aren't quite enough to convey the quality of Su-Lan as a realtor. If you're lucky enough to have her as your realtor, I don't think you'll ever be able to stand anybody who works in realty ever again.”

“I’m about to end my lease at Salado and I have had a great experience. The management has been really great, and I’ve had little to no issues with maintenance or mechanical Issues in my unit. The garbage disposal was not working when I moved in and there were initially issues with roaches, but maintenance came and fixed/sprayed. Those were the only issues I had. (With roaches, complexes can do everything in their power to try and mitigate the issue but when you live in a large apartment complex with different people, who have different cleanliness levels, they can be unavoidable. I’d recommend investing in your own pest control options in addition to the complex’s, as it just happens with apartments sometimes, especially in South Texas. I used roach traps and bait tablets, never left food out and it helped drastically.) My favorite aspect of this community is the management, specifically Lucas. Lucas has been amazing since day one and I couldn’t ask for a better advocate. Thank you Salado and Lucas for making my stay great!”

“I love this place. Its quiet, the apartments are clean and private. Management is responsive and friendly. Aside from the train and the planes from the airport, my 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, w/d in unit is indisputably a steal. 36 units makes for a quaint environment, aside from the laziness of the neighbors who can't throw away their dirty diapers without blaming management. I've watched it happen, so don't deny it. Yes, there are apartments all around us and the homeless find some comfort here, but this is an easy place to call home. Darrin's Place, home away from home.”

“Overall this is a fantastic community. I have recently moved in and the leasing staff have been fantastic at every point and are extremely communicative. They are also super welcoming. Noise: [4/5] -- Expect your typical apartment noise. Children, heavy footsteps, etc. Neighbors seem to be respectful during quiet hours. So far, nothing extremely bad. Maintenance: [5/5] -- Everyone is nice and quick to work on any issues. Amenities: [4.5/5] -- Better than the average apartment, but not the best, either. Overall, everything is great and nothing is really in bad condition. Grounds: [5/5] -- The grounds keeping crew here does a fantastic job. I rarely see pet waste (there are also a lot of conveniently placed pet waste areas). This is a fantastic change from my old place where very few people would pick up their pet waste! Overall: [4.5/5] -- If you have quiet neighbors or enjoy a relatively quiet community with decent amenities and good maintenance staff, it's a great place to live. I'll update this review if anything changes!”
