“Our first choice wasn’t opened so we decided to give this place a try. Upon arrival it was super busy and we were told 60-90 minute wait. However we only had to wait about 40 minutes. It was worth the wait. We started with the cinnamon rolls and hush puppies. I’m not a hush puppy fan and these were awesome. We had the gator bites (they literally taste like chicken nuggets) and she crab soup. The soup was great reminded me of clam chowder. I had the catch of the day “wreck fish” it was good. It’s a thicker meatier fish. The best texture example I could give is like lobster. Shannon was our server and she was attentive even been as busy as she was. Her head was on a swivel and constantly checking on all her tables.”

“I’m in the area visiting for a month and stumbled upon Top’s China Restaurant. I’ve eaten here twice and both experiences were great. First visit I had the shrimp, fried rice and broccoli it was so good and fresh as well as packaged nicely. Second visit I had the shrimp fried rice with broccoli on the side and it was also very good. I thought the shrimp fried rice would have all the shrimp at the top and nothing at the bottom but nope they tricked me and had shrimp throughout my whole container which is exactly what I expect when I order shrimp fried rice. The customer service has been great both visits and the food has been hot both times. Thank y’all for great customer service and food I highly recommend and will be back before I leave I’m sure.”

Major shout out to Trang, our waitress, for giving us the warmest hospitality on our first visit here. I ordered togo based on her recommendation and definitely will come back to order the rest of the menu. This is my first visit so I low key wanted to play safe with combo 1, garlic fries, shrimp something fried rice (forgot the name), frog legs, and the beignets. This place is definitely a hidden gem. “We dined here because of an event for my daughter’s sports team. It had been over 10 years since I have eaten here. I decided to eat from the hot and salad bar to better control my portions since it was late. There were a lot of southern food choices on the bar, mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, yams, green beans, tilapia, fried chicken, meat loaf and more. The salad bar didn’t have much on it but I was still able to make a good appetizer salad. The food I got from the hot bar was good. The staff was very friendly and nice. The store was clean. My daughter ordered a burger and fries. It looked plain but she said it was good. A couple in front of us ordered chicken livers but after checking with the kitchen was told the livers were bad and couldn’t be served. I was disappointed for him because I love chicken livers. The 4 stars is due to the bad livers. Other than that, I have no complaints. Even though I didn’t eat much, I don’t plan to return anytime soon because I’m not a fan of buffets and I wasn’t really thrilled with the menu options.”

The pizza was great but as other reviews have mentioned, a bit on the greasy side. Definitely expensive compared to other pizza places but considering the large size pizza + wings set was enough for 3 meals (for two people), I don't think the price is too bad. As a side note, although it's not Lou Malnati's fault, there were a lot of drivers with poor etiquette in the parking lot and walking back to my car with the order was kind of scary. I'm assuming it was a lot of parents picking up what I presume to be their kids from a dance class (?) in the establishment next door.”

“Top Hog has some of the BEST catfish in middle Tennessee. We ordered the catfish platter and the hamburger. The catfish filets are cooked to perfection! For the sides, we chose the white beans with onions and chow chow (which were really good) and the collard greens (the greens are really spicy, even for someone who likes spicy) so be prepared if you choose them! We also had an order of onion rings, which have a nice flavor with a thick semi crunchy batter. You can’t go wrong choosing to eat here! A couple of things to note, the prices are very reasonable (especially for the portions you get) they seem to be super busy at lunch and dinner time (could wait 30-40 min for table) and they only accept cash or check, no credit cards! Having said that, it’s worth the wait as well as the cash!”

Light bake on pizza is perfect. Light bake on calzones leaves raw dough in middle so you need to play around with it a bit to find your perfect order.”
