“I absolutely enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere is full of happiness. Everytime I walked into this school, I was always excited for the day. The teachers are strict, but always had the best their student and there past students. Always pushed you to work hard and be successful.”

“I have had students at Fideles Christian School for the past 5 years. I have watched the school grow and adapt in an effort to make a better environment for the families and students. The partnership between family, students and teachers is amazing. My students have learned independence, accountability and grace. The core curriculum is challenging and FCS offers advanced college level classes. The college model of only attending classes three days a week, allows students to manage time and not become overwhelmed. I feel like, in comparison, my students are getting the same advanced quality education offered in AP Forsyth County school classrooms without the feeling of being overworked or stressed. If you student is looking for an alternative to public school, FCS is worth a visit. Small classroom size, intemet school setting and parent/teacher partnerships is key!”

“Our family 🧡💙🧡💙 Zenith West Gymnastics Academy! We have 2 girls that train in their facility (levels 4 & 9). Gymnastics is a high skill sport where success requires an immense amount of physical strength, flexibility, perseverance, and mental tenacity. Zenith West teaches ALL THAT! We have been very pleased with the professionalism from the staff, management, booster club & ownership. I would 100% recommend Zenith West!”

“We've had kids at Adat Shalom Preschool for over 5 years now and couldn't be happier with our choice! Our oldest daughter moved on to Kindergarten and was extremely well prepared, both academically and socially. Our Son is finishing Pre-K this year and is ready for the steep up to Kindergarten. Our third child will start the 2's program next year. They've always made time to discuss our various kids' strengths and weaknesses, and were focused on making sure they were ready for the next step, with a healthy attitude towards school, their classmates and teachers. I very strongly recommend Adat Shalom Preschool if you have kids in the 2-5 range. Take a tour, at least. You (and your kids) will be glad you did!”

“This school has gotten better since the other ratings, and now has a plethora of AP classes, and I feel more than challenged. Some of Admin and Teachers do the best they can with the little the have (funding is always an issue, the computers in the labs still run Windows XP for Christ's sake!) but some teachers are so protected by their unions that they don't have to teach well and often don't as a consequence of being at the top of the totem pole thanks to working there for years. If that didn't make sense, just know that newer better teachers are more likely to get fired because they are newer. There is definitely a huge gap between the students in Advanced Placement classes and those in regular classes and I know very few of those on the other side. This gap is predominantly a socio-economic one, with richer families having their students take more challenging courses, while those less fortunate simply look to graduate and often work part-time after school. Those on the advanced side are getting test scores just as high as students at SI or MA, but they are offset by the other 60% of the school who preforms at or below average. As a whole, HMBHS does not compare to other schools in the Bay Area, such as Saint Ignatius, or Menlo-Atherton. HMBHS will never be a badge of exclusive honor, because its very composition, identity and mission work against that. It's intended to be accessible and to try and counter, and change, the fact that in the United States, according to a study from a few years ago, fewer than 10% of children from families in the bottom quartile of income are likely to get a college diploma by the age of 24, while more than 70% of families from the top quartile are. HMBHS functions primarily to get students who weren't originally intent on going to college into a two-year community college. That's not to say that if you have plans to go to a UC that you are unable to. Many, many alumni have gone onto prestigious universities - UC Berkely, UCLA, UCSB, Northwestern, U-Penn, USC, I could go on... - it just takes some extra work to set yourself apart from the rest and use tools that are meant for other purposes to get the job done. At HMBHS, success won't be handed to you, you have to work for it, which in a way is even better. I gave this review a 5/5 because I respect the mission. However, I would probably give it a 4/5, but didn't because clearly the school could use a better rep. While the mission is a noble one, the school survives because of teachers who put in 110%, but they are increasingly transferring to other districts where the pay is higher, among other reasons. Hadley, Davis, Lusear, and many others have been forced to use HMBHS as a stepping stone onto institutions which pay more for their hard work. Just this semester, the principle, superintendent and his assistant all stepped down from their positions for varying reasons, chiefly low pay and the annoying union who stabs its associates in the back. This forces the high school to hire young guns who can sometimes be amazing teachers who are more able to relate to their students as a result of their youth (Stagg, Svendsen, Centoni) but often times leads to disasters (Poma, Brown and the librarian who threw away books (!!!)) who, thankfully, have all been removed. At the end of the day, the school is crippled by low funds, an annoying union and a fast teacher turn-over rate, but is held together by the alumni donations (in the form of some unprecedented sports facilities), amazing, but under-represented teachers and a very strong parent foundation that somehow manages to keep things moving forward. Hope this helps someone!”

“Bentwood Studios is a great place to learn woodworking skills in a safe and fun environment. I personally have bowls, spoons, a cutting board and a rocking chair that were made there. Ernie and Glenn are patient and skilled craftsmen who love to share their knowledge with others. Their enthusiasm for their work is contagious and makes the classes truly an enjoyable experience.”

“Carpe Diem is a wonderful private preschool with experienced and caring teachers and staff members. The class sizes are small and the curriculum is interesting and fun for our little one. The teachers have been great at welcoming us and making our child feel comfortable in his first daycare setting. We appreciate their help with potty training and other milestones. I recommend Carpe Diem because of the friendly atmosphere, wide range of activities for children and the impressive meal and snack menus. The administrators are great about keeping parents informed and the mobile app is very helpful in showcasing your child's daily happenings.”

“Daniel and Stephanie did a phenomenal job taking some "headshots" for my new venture in Real Estate. They also indulged us with some "couple" photos as a bonus. The quality of customer service and downright wonderful hospitality was exceptional! I shall recommend them to family, friends, and all who need professional photos. As a Christian business they demonstrate their faith in word and action. I strongly recommend giving them your business!”

“I was a student at NWPHS for 4 years (freshman-senior) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The teachers all made a genuine effort to connect with the students and worked with them to create the best environment possible. The majority of learning was through project based which I found to be a much better learning style for myself. Every student is different in how they handle project based learning, but I know that it was extremely beneficial for me in helping create leadership and problem solving skills, as well as independence. I think the real secret to success at NWPHS is to take advantage of its opportunities. I was able to participate in two MAAP STARS competitions, go on multiple expeditions both in and out of state, and even took a trip to England in my senior year.”

“I was looking for a bilingual in English and Spanish, Christian based daycare/preschool and I found this place. I fell in love with it immediately after my daughter starting attending. My daughter started attending when she was 3 going big on 4 years old. At first of course any child can be afraid and nervous about attending a new school or attending a school for the first time to begin with. However, my daughter and I are so sad to leave. I wish my daughter could continue attending but she is going to kindergarten and so because of the area where she will now be, she has to attend a different daycare before and/or after school. The staff is a family-grounded and loving. We will definitely be visiting from time to time.”
