“Found this little store on my morning walk thanks to OK Google and walking instructions from Google Maps. Has a fresh meat counter with very helpful butcher. Custom sliced a fresh chicken breast for me. Also tried a few pieces of dried cod fish after he explained how to soak in water to remove the excess salt. Also found some nice fresh produce. Did I mention the reasonable prices for small neighborhood store. ”

“First impression was the store is cluttered! Fliers all over the floor at the front door. I believe the wind from the front door blows inside and catches the fliers on the rack just inside! There is a large selection of food and non foods alike. FYI ... This is not a true “dollar” store! Most items are $3.00 or more! The store is clean and relatively organized (besides the front entry). It’s an easy in and relatively easy out depending on the number of shoppers. Usually only one cashier working check out.”

“Porters is a first class establishment. They offer full processing services as well as hide and taxidermy options. They don’t do actual taxidermy on site but have quality, dependable work done through their outfit. They have been in business for years and are a respectable group. Just like ANY other business they make money. If you bring in an alligator for processing they will be forthright and let you know all the expenses associated with having an alligator processed. There are no hidden fees and they are honest people. Just like getting a deer processed. If you drop one off, don’t expect to pick up a free bag of deer meat once it’s done. I would trust them with all of my alligators and have been dealing with them for 13 years. If you are anywhere from Matagorda to Louisiana and need a gator processor, these are the people for you. I will continue to use them for as long as I trap alligators. They are great supporters of their community and all around good, honest people. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. As good as it gets.”

“I loved this store. It's like an upscale Whole Foods. They have all the items you would find in an regular grocery store plus an extensive bakery, deli and cheese section. They also have a nice meat market and wine aisle. I mostly bought bakery items, I was very pleased with all the choices. I had to restrain myself but I will be going back to try the rest of the things I had to deny myself. I also got a lox bagel which was extremely good. The bagel was really fresh and it had a touch of dill which most places usually don't add it gave it that extra pop.”

“Such a great little discount market! Their prices for deli meats can’t be beat! They have a great selection, too. You never know what kind of items your going to find there, so it’s like a treasure hunt. I won’t ever buy dented can goods, though. Also, many times their produce is already starting to turn. Overall, the store is easy to navigate and items are very organized. The store is very clean. My only issue is in warmer weather there are usually too many flies in the deli area.”

The only thing I am not too fond of, is that there is always boxes all throughout the store aisles, making it incredibly difficult to even get close to what I'm shopping for. Perhaps stocking should be done at an earlier or later time in the day, because with it being around dinner time, I probably would have grabbed something to cook and a few more things if I would have been able to get to them. For the most part though, this Family Dollar is definitely higher up on my list then some. And thank you to the gentleman who stands at the door.
