My husband didn't believe me when I told him I was in labour and he brought me to the Douglas memorial where he was the doctor to deliver my first born. Premature almost 2 months. He did amazing I was so lucky he was there since the ambulance didn't even make it to me before he had delivered my son. They were so great I wish I could remember the nurses names because without the one I would of been hyper ventilating the entire time. Everyone did everything they had to and delivered my beautiful baby boybto this world. Sorry guys but thank you from the bottom of my heart. This was almost 2 years ago to the date but I never thought of leaving a review. He deserves it so here it is.
Is there such a thing as a 10 star rating - because these folks deserve that and more. What they did for me goes so far beyond any rating system and I'm having difficulty in finding words to express my gratitude. My situation is/was desperate.
I am a 65 year old female who has stage 4 cancer. I was sick for a long time before receiving treatment. Basically I was a vegetable who was only able to lay in one position for 8 months or longer. Prior to that I had been sick for over a year. I was unable to work or function owing to the extreme pain. It was the pain that finally drove me to seek treatment. During this time Revenue Canada chose to put me into their collections department and I was assigned a cold mercenary and relentless shark to my case.
It was at this time that I went to Liberty Tax and met Heather - the Regional Manager and Tanya the owner. My situation was so bad that all my utitilities were in the process of being shut off - I was trying to exist on my pension and was receiving food from friends. I was completely devastated - alone and in agony which I barely managed with high doses of morphine. I couldn't even afford to get my taxes done.
The shark assigned to my case threatened me constantly with loss of all that I had left which was my home. The stress was destroying what was left of me. Had I not done my taxes they would have initiated action to garnishee 50% of my pension which would have guaranteed loss of my home.
Liberty tax did my taxes for free!!!
Further - they took over my financial affairs and dealt with "the shark." He was removed from my case and replaced by someone who Heather tells me is fair. They have taken over the entire mess and are in the process of trying to find me assistance to alleviate my debt or at least modify it.
Liberty Tax - i.e Heather and Tanya have gone so far beyond just "doing taxes" - any computer program can do that - but these folks are not only brilliantly knowledgable but they are able to find "out of the box" solutions to situations that my previous accountant (who I was with for over 20 years) never bothered to share. My guess is he didn't know or care to know. In additon to their vast knowledge of programs and assistance that exist that most of us have no clue about - they are the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. There is only one other business that is equally kind and they wish to remain nameless so I will respect that.
In this world that is so often callous - cold and ruthless with only the bottom-line used as a marker - finding a business owned and run by genuine human beings whose sole interest is caring and brilliant professionalism - is like finding an oasis in a desert.
There are no words - no "Thank Yous" that could ever cover or repay what these folks have done and are doing for me. If I do survive the cancer another year and am able to become functional and hopefully profitable again I will NEVER EVER go anywhere else to get my taxes done!!!
