  After reading the reviews of Mary Stopes Buckhurst Hill I was very nervous about my appointment this morning.
  
  Do not go by the terrible reviews below I have nothing but praise for the whole team at Mary stopes who put me to ease and we’re very welcoming.
  
  Everybody was polite, friendly and kind especially the nurse who comforted me as soon as I started crying when I entered the room for my scan 2 days befor the procedure.
  
  When entering the theatre room it can be very overwhelming with all the people in there but they introduced them selfs and massive credit to the Asian man who I think could sense I was nervous & upset & who Put me under sedation, he kept talking to me and reassuring me keeping me calm a very lovely man.
  
  Even under Sudation I don’t remember nothing about the procedure apart from coming round in the recovery room - there treated by a very friendly young white girl who done my blood pressure & made me a hot choc and gave me biscuits - coming round in a different room was overwhelming for me and I did end up crying to which I was reassured, given a tissue and asked if I was ok by the nurses.
  
  Within 20mins I felt normal (apart from a bellyache same as a period pain) enough to get changed and another friendly lady discharged me and escorted me downstairs to meet my boyfriend.
  
  Over all the experience was nothing like the terrible comments that have been left below and everyone who works there deserves credit for the job they do.
  
  I will never ever be returning back - but that is not due to the “terrible service” it’s due to learning from a stupid mistake and never wanting to be put in that position again xx

  I came to this place a few weeks ago and to be honest I was dreading it from all of the bad reviews I read beforehand. I got the impression the receptionists/nurses were all rude and abrupt but I didn't experience this myself. When I arrived, the receptionist was nice and told me politely to sit in the waiting room. The waiting room itself I found quite pleasant, music playing on the radio made me feel more at ease and it didn't seem all gloomy like some other doctors/hospital waiting rooms. I waited around half an hour or so until being called into the room by a nurse, no partners or anyone else are allowed in with you so they have to wait in the waiting room. My nurse was friendly enough, quite straight to the point but I didn't find her rude or that she made me feel uncomfortable. The appointment itself didn't take long at all (I had the one day pill option) and I was in and out of the room within half an hour. I wouldn't say the nurse gave me too much information, especially about the aftercare - it did feel a bit rushed to be honest but at the time I was glad to be out of there. Also if you have any questions/worries at all you can just call Marie Stopes international and they will advise you - they are very reassuring. Hope this helps anyone who is worrying about the experience - try not to, you will be okay x

  The lady at reception was really friendly which was the first good thing. When being called the nurse was really friendly and explained what was happening really clearly, she took her time which was really nice and comforting. She explained everything as we went along. Both nurses I saw we're really sweet and friendly.
