“Beautiful and close to home! Hoover has been home for me and my family for 28 years; A mix of good southern, working middle class families. All are welcome here! A diverse culture. Hiking, biking, walk your fur babies! Clean and just beautiful. Have a picnic in the park, bring a frisbee, hang out under a shade tree. Walk on track. We even saw a Mommy and Me group who gathered for about half an hour dancing and playing. This is a great place for outdoor fun. Super safe setting. Some construction is currently going on, but it won’t impede your plans to enjoy the trails or walking path.”

“Older park with an older playground. Definitely needs to be redone but city is more focused on the newer park and not reinvesting in older things. The ball fields are pretty good condition aside from the lighting. The lights need to be reangled so as to not blind ball players during games”

“When we first started planning for our roadtrip, we found out fast that many RV parks have breed restrictions which wouldn’t allow us to stay due to us owning pit bulls which we think is absolutely ridiculous but I’ll save that discussion for another time. Needless to say, we’ve had to get creative in our search for places to stay. I have to admit I was intrigued when I found this place. It has been the most unique place we’ve stayed thus far. It’s a cross between an antique store and an outdoor wonderland...two of our favorite things to do! The owner (Mark) took us on a private tour of his antique collection that he has been working on for years. It was absolutely amazing! He was 100% accepting our furrbabies and considered them as family members. Swimming hole and bike trails onsite looked like a blast but we only stayed for a night so didn’t have much time to explore. Each site has water & electric hookups and there is a sewage drop area onsite as well if needed. There is a Walmart and Alabama Adventure theme park within 15 mins. Perfect place to bring kiddos. Overall we loved this extraordinary place and will be returning!”

“They have moved the canteen outside so it's a walk up and order bar. They have outside sitting tables near the play area and also the liquor bar is located on the back side of the canteen near the restroom which were very clean when we used them. Nice!!”

“Have stayed at the park a number of times. It is convenient as an overnight stay for our trips. Stay have always been friendly and helpful. Online registration and payment is easy. Check-in during COVID was very physically distanced and efficient. Park is clean, sites mostly level and easy to get around. Would stay there again. There are trains that go by from time to time, but did not bother us.”

“The best state park in all of the US! The trails are great, swimming in the lake, the demonstration farm where you can feed and pet animals, and a wonderful campground. I would suggest going in the fall when the weather is nice and the leaves are changing colors. So glad we stopped here on our way across country.”
