Note to travelers, as of April 5, when we arrived we were informed that there are no dogs, no sleds, nothing mentioned in previous reviews. It’s just the gift shop and a room to watch a TV program. Apparently they don’t start doing anything with dogs until mid May. Wish we would have called first before making the drive but wanted to let others know what to expect.

Great place to lean about the history of the Iditarod and the life of sled dogs and mushers. Love the fact they have Togo on site. We even took a training ride with some dogs while there!

What a one of a kind experience! Holding the future Iditarod puppies was the best part!! The sled run was fun too. The museum is full of unique gifts and Iditarod history. A must see for your Alaska experience!

This place had a lot of stuff to see. Souvenirs are on the pricey side, but I guess that's to be expected... especially considering admission to the museum is free. The dog cart ride was nice, though relatively short. All in all it was a nice place to visit. We made this a day trip for one of our days of our vacation to Fairbanks. The ride there and back, though LONG... was full of beautiful sights and Denali... well worth the drive.
